I asked last year some time and there weren't many. I wonder with McD's giving out pedometers if anyone has taken it up? I started again 3 days ago after a very long hiatus. So far I've gotten my 10,000 steps in each day - yeah!

Is anyone else doing this? I find I'm still doing the same exercise (Curves and taking walks), but am also making a conscious effort to increase my overall activity level throughout the day. It does point out rather quickly though that I've been in the habit of sitting around too much - I do have to make the effort to get enough steps in. It'll be interesting to see how many steps I get in if I wear it hiking, or somewhere (like WDW) where you walk alot.

I'd love to compare notes with someone.

I usually only count steps on days that I just know I can't make it to the gym, which doesn't happen very often. But when I do count steps 10,000 is the goal of the day....and since I have a desk job, that takes a lot of effort.

I wear mine when I walk the gerbil track
I wear mine at work
I wear mine when I mow
I wear mine when I hike
I wear mine for all day trips
I wear mine all the time

I did buy a new belt recently though that is too thick for the clip on the pedometer so those days I dont clock my steps at work.

Since spring arrived there have often been days that I reached over 20,000 steps for the day!

I did in the past and I need to get back to wearing mine. I always had a goal of 10,000 a day. Thanks for the reminder that I have one and should be using it.

I try to be good about wearing mine - I also have a goal of 10000 steps per day (have some good days, and some not so good).

I love wearing mine--it's fun to try and increase my steps. I've been wearing it since my spring trip to WDW where I averaged 20,000 - 25,000 step/day. During the school year I get about 5,000 steps at school and try to get the other 5,000 after school. Yesterday I had my typical summer day (which is just 8 school days away for me!) of 20,000 steps. DH and I went for 2 walks. Our normal course is a little over 11,000 steps. I really wish I could find a way to walk more during the school day--now that it's nice out, I try to go outside for a little bit on by prep, but I have too much grading to do to really justify that.

I'm glad to hear from others who are doing this! Denise, you walk a lot! I used to walk about 5 miles(at one time) a day, but found that too time consuming after I had kids. I also have an ankle injury that acts up now if I'm not careful. That's why I'm really enjoying just spreading it out over the day. If I don't go out for an hour of formal exercise, but just do more walking and still get my steps in - I'm happy!

I wear mine but it's somewhat defective, counts about 3 steps per one. I walk A LOT at my job, I give tours of our complex of 120 apartments, and believe me, my pedometer gets a lot of work!

My husband just bought me one for my birthday. I plan on taking it to Disney with me next week. I am very curious to see how many steps I will take in one day at the parks.princess:

The one I got a McDonalds doesn't work well so I haven't been wearing it. It would not count steps that I took, but when I got in my car & starting driving, THEN it would count "steps" Maybe once I lose my belly it will work better. I kind of expected a Happy Meal toy quality when I got it, though.:D

I will be as soon as I get a pedometer. I think I will try the Mc D's one but might get a better one later on.

I have so much to buy for my plan. A scale, a pedometer and possibly a jogging stroler.

Katiebelle,

I'm curious to know how many steps too. Do you know how to convert steps to miles. I'm curious of that too. I will have to watch and see if anyone does a count of their walking at parks. Hehe. I bet its like 5-10 miles a day.

I bet a day at WDW parks is a heck of alot more than 10miles!
I get up to 9miles just by working through my work day and an hr walking outside!

I avg just over 2000 steps per miles
