I had a surprise party for my mom's retirement at the end of October. You would have to play with the color schemes, but here is what the buffett and dessert tables looked like:
Main Buffet table: The yellow cloth is a paper table cloth we cut to size, the overcloth (plaid) we bought, and the orange-y ones are cloth napkins. I used big bowls underneath for height
Here is another view of the main table
we used a 3 tiered pie rack to put the plates on.
Here is the dessert table
I really had fun with this, and found the linens really inexpensively at TJ Maxx (a local discount dept store).
Thanks. Your table looked great. I think I will put out clear bowls of fruit and some flowers. I bought a lot of stuff from the dollar store, like Napkins and utensils.
Forgot to say, on the dessert table, the glass bowl is a trifle dish filled with water, with floating candles in it. (they were apple shaped, in honor of the 'autumnal theme')
We used ALL paper goods (napkins, plates, etc) and the beauty of this party was it was a NO utensil party. Everything was finger food, toothpick-able, or sandwiches. One less detail to worry on.
