But...I've seen games where Redick didn't hit a zillion 3s and like an countless ammount of shots, and Duke was still in good shape.

If your wasting all your defence on one player, all those other great Duke players will get the ball. I suggest that is anybody wants to beat Duke, don't try to shut down J.J. Redick. Try to do what the Pistons did against the Lakers in 04. They couldn't stop shaq, so they stopped everyone around him.
