I too am upset that you will not be attending! I remember last years AK event, and we got to spend a good amount of time with you. Wish you were able to come.......I guess the upside is that I get to see Donna. I am really looking forward to it -- I think this is going to be a really nice event.

Hey Lauri I hope this doesn't offend you, or anger you in any way, I certainly don't mean it to. I just feel I need to defend myself for something that is ridiculously drawn way out of proportion.

If anyone has a problem with me I think it should be discussed via e-mail, not to these boards. I am not "hiding behind" anyone's skirts. If I have a problem with you I will bring it directly to you. I was at work today and not near a computer. I do not control anyone's ability to post to this board.
I wonder what I have done to deserve some of the anger that comes through some of these posts.
If anyone feels I was inciting something then you are welcome to your opinion. I don't feel I was inciting anything, I was just asking questions about the event. I had intended for those who were going to the event to tell me what reason they chose for going. I was thinking about going to the event also, but after the talk we all had I was questioning if I should. I kind of needed someone to give me a push, to help me make up my mind, maybe to tell me how wonderful it would be and how much fun I would have. But I decided that I would rather spend Valentine's day at the park and visit my friends in the more protected environment of the Contemporary rather than take my chances with the weather at AK.

This board is a discussion board. People come here to discuss their collection. They also come here to find the answer to questions or rumors about their particular collection.
If we can't discuss rumors or problems we see then we had better tell the person who asked about the future of the 100 years light up pin to bring their question somewhere else.
Or if there is a question about whether or not they will have a new series of lanyard pins this year. Or, heaven forbid they hear a CM talking to a group of people and they bring it here to be discussed.
I put alot of time into pins when I first started collecting. And sometimes I ignored the important things in my life. I cut back on the time I was giving to trading and have more time now for the things that are truely important to me.
I am watching the President as I write this talking about the future of the United States. The future of my family, three boys two who could be drafted if it ever comes to that. My sister who is dying in FL, alone because her husband couldn't deal with her illness. My brother who has MS and the fact that I as conservator have to make the decision on what nursing home to put him in within the year because he can no longer live the way we are blessed to live. These are the things that I must think about and deal with. I am not saying anyone has a better life than I do, everyone has their problems, and overall I am very blessed to be able to help both my sister and brother, but these are where I have decided to spend most of my energy.
The Parti Gras, the rumors, the back-stabbing, the gossip.... I am an adult, with adult situations, those are far from important to me. I am sorry if this offends anyone, I did not mean it to be offensive, and if I have please let me know . Peggie

I do not have angry feelings toward you or anyone else. I just disagree with your posting this rumor here, and I understand that is just my opinion, but when I first read this post it upset me very much.

Very sorry to hear of your sisters terminal illness. That is a very difficult thing to deal with, as you know I delt with that myself with my own sister. I will pray for her and you.

After a long hard day of shovelling sunshine, I decided to wander down to the old computer. Haven't had much time lately so I thought I would see what was going on. Well, I start scanning through a bunch of headlines and loe and behold I see this topic. So I said to myself, "Self, you oughta go check that thread out!" Well, not wanting to start an argument with myself because I never win, (oh wait, I always win. No, I was right, I never win) I decided to see what all the hub-bub was about. After all, I am interested in the social gatherings of lawns as well as the next guy. I mean think about it. You grass just sits there day after day with the only thing it has to look forward to is a haircut. And heaven knows Trina is getting really tired of me telling her that the grass told me that it wanted to go with the Beatle look and to Let It Be. Well, imagine my surprise to see that not everyone's lawn wants to go to Walt Disney World. I have a theory about this though. The timing of it is all wrong. I mean in most cases everyone's lawn is all brown and bloated under a heavy white coat. It will be months before it is swimsuit weather and who wants to go to Walt Disney World carrying around a bunch of winter fat? I know just last month when I was mowing ours I noticed a mound where it used to be pretty flat. I may have to put it on the Atkins diet which means Dog Dot Com needs to find a new potty routine (see Amber, I know how to get around those nasty punctuation marks). Well anyway, I think if a guy wants to send his lawn to Walt Disney World he should do it. In fact, I got a whole bag of clippings that won't fit in my garbage can. So I was thinking, if everyone would follow my lead and send one bag of grass to the Disney Company maybe the head mowers at WDW can relax and not worry about pins and stuff. So count me in for being all for party grass! I am confused about this cajun stuff though. I am not to worried. If my grass can stay green when it is 120 degrees outside, I am sure it can handle a little spicy food.

Speaking of rumors, Ed is hancuffed to Mickey in one of those pics at Magic Kingdom Survivor, look closely.
NOT GOING to the event, Disney has abused, and downwrong treated ME like doo-doo once to many times; especially the time we were herded like a bunch of cows at the MGM event into that so called studio!
I'll stick with the mini Scoop events any time!
Anyway, Sunday we'll be able to pick up the pins without the extortion charge, I mean "registration fee"!!!!! and we'll still get to see all our friends and have a great time!
There's only one pin that looks interesting to me of the whole bunch!
The food issue is one dear to my heart, beign a Chef and all, the food service has really been BAD, BAD, BAD, anyone who thinks of ANY event which had good food service; YOU NEED TO GET OUT MORE OFTEN, even to Denny's!!!!!
The best of the worse was AK, the food was good, when they had it!!!!! Most of the time the food stations had empty pans, no meat......BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!!!!!!
I don't mind paying if I'm getting value but lately all we are getting from Disney is s******!
The cruise is a much better value and, the crew actually seems appreciative!!!!!

I'd send mine, but w/ the recent frosts, it is just too brown, and short, not enough to "buzz" and send.. Hope yours has a wonderful time..just make sure and tell it not to get toooo close to some of those animals, or it will be just be making Hay...
