It would be fun to know other disers going for the holiday. We will be at FW from Dec 16-29 My husband, DS10 and DD 7 and our Dog ! We are traveling in an old TT that will be decorated to the nines!! Just bought the huge 8 foot blow-up snow globe and can't wait to set it up at the Fort!! We have been at FW for the last 4 christmas's and really love it. Spend a lot of time hanging around the campground looking at everyones decorations.

We are also going and staying in the cabins! We have a TT but we have it set permanent at a campground here, since it is pretty big and has the sliding doors and such we don't pull it that far ;)
This will be our first time in the cabins and at FW, so we are really looking foward to it! We will be there from the 19~26. Our kids are ds~17 / dd~14 / ds~8 / dd~4 / dd~1

me me me!!! :cool1: 16th to 26th look for my blue icicle lights at the cabins

We will also be at Fort Wilderness this Christmas. Were there last year and loved it. Read earlier that loops 100 & 200 had been closed for renovations. Have they reopened yet ? We made our reservations in March for a preferred site and would love to be as close to the action as possible. Last year we were in loop 200 , which was close to the marina , store and restaurant so we did not need to rent a golf cart. Big Saving!

We'll be there too, in a cabin (DD 15, DS 14) from 12/23 - 1/1. Did the same thing two years ago and it was the best Christmas we've ever had. Didn't even put up a tree or decorations at home - just at FW! Very low stress and relaxing for me, because I mailed a box of gifts down ahead of time, had help decorating and didn't have to cook a big meal on Christmas.

My parents spend the winter at FW and normally stay in the 100 loop. When they got there this year, they were told that it wouldn't re-open until the beginning of December.

michelle9343 I love that blow up snow globe! Is it Santa or the snowmen? We're in a cabin the 15-21. Second trip to Ft.Wilderness, and a Christmas surprise for ds 11. :cool1:

Our plan was to be there from 12/23 through 01/02 but it aint looking good right now. I am gonna wait till the bitter end to cancel my ressies, you just never know !

Thanks for the update on loop 100. I would hope loop 200 would re open the first of Dec. We will be there from 12/12 - 01/04 . My husband , DD-11, DD-9 and DS-7 and me will be staying in our TT. I found staying at Christmas last year so less stressful. Never heard my children say " I'm Bored !". Usually by the second day of Christma break I'm running them to playdates , or other activities in town, as well as decorating the house , last minute shopping and cooking. Avoiding all that hassle plus going to Disney World makes the three day drive down : we live in Atlantic Canada , worth it. I guess we will be going to MVMCP again this year. So far my only outdoor decoration is a Mickey wreath I'm making. Maybe I'm a little to relaxed!

We're gonna be at the Fort for the 1st time! 12/23 - 1/2. Me, DH, DD-12. Am looking forward to discovering some of the DISers I've learned so much from in the last months! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm still hoping that my niece and her partner are coming up, at least for the day, from south Florida. We were supposed to see them for Christmas or New Year's day. However, since they just got power back yesterday :Pinkbounc and both of them work in retail, they may not be able to because their stores are going to need to make up for previous losses. :sad2:

Us, too! We check-in on the 18th. Doing the CP at Epcot with dinner at the Biergarten. Checking out on the 23rd (yay! finally got the 22nd) and we'll be doing Lauren's 6th bday on the 22nd. Yeah, we'll have a decoration or two.....

Hope to see y'all there! I'm not shy, I'll hunt you down!

spoon full of sugar
We got the one with the snowman.
We have a ton of other decorations . I love to go crazy and but lights on everthing!!I am even going to decorate our golf cart! We can't wait. I only wish we were staying untill 1/2 , but really 13 nights is nothing to complain about :goodvibes
Too All
On the cruise board alot of people set up meetings. Maybe we could all meet at the campfire one night or something.

I also have reservations for 12/26-01/02, but like Bigdisneydaddy, don't know if we will be able to go. It depends on if our fifth wheel is ready to be picked up at Lazydays. If we do decide to cancel, no big deal, we are staying in the cabins 01/11-01/16 as a birthday trip for the girls.

Does anyone know how to cut and paste a list of who will be a Fw during the holidays? I still would love to have a meet if anyone else would.

Mrsgus06 you still have not got your fifth wheel back yet? What are they doing to it? We fly out Dec. 2 to pickup your new motor coach. We my stop off at FW on the way home, But we are going to St. Augustine first. We have ressies for New Year but for the first time in 12 years we my change your plans.

we'll be there, 12/19 - 1/3.

when we were there in October, and found out 100/200 were closed, we asked when it would be open. The CM said in November.

I called Lazy Days last week and they said it was finished, by the way, did I have a hole in the front of the unit that sits over the bed of the truck? No, I did not have a hole in the unit! So, now they say it is not done because they have to send it to the body shop to fix the hole that they obviously put in the unit. Originally, it was sent back because the water hoses were hand tightened and came loose during the night on my second week there. The underbelly cover and insulation fell out all over the place. The floor (both hardwood and carpet) needed to be replaced. The stove cover did not stay open, the a/c leaked in the main living area. The blower motor (or something like that) froze in the a/c in the bedroom. Plus a lot of minor mishaps as this was our first camping trip in the fifth wheel. I like to think of it as using it for 8 weeks this summer and getting a new one for the 8 weeks next summer. It is a good thing it is paid for. I would be upset if I had to make payments on something I did not have in my posession, if you know what I mean. I think hubby as given up on my cancelling Christmas because he has finally faced the facts that we won't get our camper back before then. :teeth:

However, Thanksgiving will be spent at the Ft, compliments of my parents and their motorhome. We will arrive the 20th and stay till the 27th. I am not too proud to crowd them for a week. I have no shame when it comes to WDW! :rotfl2:

I hope you get it back before your trip, But look at the good side you didn't have to pay storage to keep it by FW. Good luck

Hello,
I am newly registered, :wave2: but have been reading many of the forums for a while! I love to visit this site and add to the excitement of our upcoming trip! Our family is planning on staying at Ft. Wilderness from 12/28 through the 12/31. Still trying to get reservations beyond the 31st, but have had no luck so far!! If you decide to meet while we are there, we would love to join in. Thanks!
