That has been me until this year. But so many DVCers on this board have posted about how much fun it is--and they are right! Thank you for setting me straight! We were going to do a Grand Gathering around Thanksgiving 2011 but I think I will see if all the families can make October work instead. Here are a couple of photos, though they don't capture the music and special lighting.

Never have seen the dwarfs at Photo Pass before:

I'm here now and not planning to do MNSSHP. However, thanks to your pictures and some great reports I've heard, maybe sometime in the future. They do really celebrate the holiday here.

Great!

We were not able to go this year as DH's legs were bothering him. MNSSHP is something I would only miss for a serious issue like that! I think that the Fall Harvest decorations at the MK are even nicer than their Christmas decorations, and the bright oranges and the blue skies are just perfect!

Funny, I was just posting about this over on my trip report. I was disappointed in MNSSHP. The crowds were huge last night. The parade was nice and fireworks okay, but I kept thinking I paid $110 for two to get packed in like a sardine. BUT as I said people did seem to be having a lot of fun. I think it just isn't for us.

We just got back andwe didn't go - but mainly because we ran the 1/2 marathon Saturday night and didn't think we'd be up for it. I heard many people rave about it and have put it on my list of future must-do's. People especially commented on the fireworks display - said it was fantastic. Thanks for the great pictures.:goodvibes

I LOVE these pictures!! Especially the one of you two and the 7 Dwarfs!! Where did you find them????? I would LOVE a picture of them with me in the middle of course next week when I'm there!!!

I go to MNSSHP every year. I may skip next year but that's a long way off!! :rotfl2:

We've only been once but we loved it and will go again. The special parade and the fireworks were fantastic. We enjoyed going trick-or-treating too. It had been a long time since I've done that! DH was reluctant to do that at first but since he had never done it as a kid, I talked him into it. He enjoyed going through his "haul" when we got back to the room!

My DMom went trick or treating for her very first time at a MNSSHP in '03. She lives in a different state than I do, and when it was time to leave WDW, she asked me to bring her clothes home with us, but she took her treats home with HER!:goodvibes She was a young 84 back then!

I enjoy the fun of MNSSHP so very much!

The dwarfs were near Winnie the Pooh ride. The line was very long, but I was forewarned so we got there at about 6:20 and the Dwarfs arrived at exactly 7:00. I recommend getting there early, maybe grabbing something to eat while in line. The CMs are glad to take photos and the Photo Pass person is there as well.

I was as delighted with the adult costumes as I was with the kids' costumes. One that DH saw and I missed was adult Cruella with about 10 dalmatian kids. I didn't feel at all out of place without a costume but it surely would have been fun to wear one.

We just got home on Tuesday and also did not go to MNSSHP. Been there, done that in the days when it was great. Going again on Oct. 31st and no plans to do it then either. Sorry, too expensive for us AP holders (sorry, that tiny little discount didn't sway us at all). We have lots of pictures and memories of MNSSHP in the past when it was a great treat and a reasonable price. Now we were tempted to go to the US/IOA party since they offered their AP holders half price tickets, but didn't.

We are skipping it too! We LOVE MNSSHP - went last two years and had a wonderful time; however, I think the ticket prices are a little steep and the crowds last year were intense. We have decided to skip it this year - our kids will be disappointed, I'm sure. But geez, it's Disney - there's plenty of other fun to be had!

Thanks for the info and warning! :) I don't wear a costume. Last October when I was there it was so hot that I would have melted in a costume! No...I'll just go as "me" and have a fantastic time!!

We are headed to WDW a week from today but not doing MNSSHP. We aren't really parade people and can justify paying over 200 for our family of four to go. We have AP's so we can go to MK during party days and hop over to another park for a few hours while the crowds pack in for the party.

We are not going this year and will be there ON Halloween. We've been to MNSSHP about 5 times and we enjoy it very much, but it is getting so expensive! Plus, we'll be back next year for Halloween with friends and they will want to go, so we'll just go then.

Welp, sound like you just saved me the price of admission. I didnt know if they were as overcrowded as the xmas parties or if they had these at lower admission numbers.. Been there, done that on a crazy busy xmas party, not doing it again.

Awesome pictures! This will be my first time going to WDW in October since I was about 4 years old (back in the 80's). So I've never been to MNSSHP and me and DH are really looking forward to it!

October is our preferred time to go to WDW, but have never been to MNSSHP. We decided to do it this year, and will be going in just one week. Our DD is 6, and we are not sure how many more years we will get away with pulling her out of school, so we figured the time is NOW.

Thanks for the pictures, and all the other posts on MNSSHP. It convinced us to go. If we can get a good day in (we plan to get over there around 4:00), and do the rides we want, see the parade and fireworks, it will be our only visit to MK - so actually the price is less than a day pass. That is what we are hoping for anyway. Our DD is not big on candy, so we will do a little trick or treating for the fun of it, but not much. She would rather do rides than get pictures with the characters, so we wont be battling those lines (although I do want to get at least one good shot in of her with some characters).

So hopefully my plan works out, but if it does not, we do have 2 open days planned during our trip. So I will bite the bullet, and get a day pass for MK. It will be worth it just to do this event once with our DD. I like to do something new each time we go down, so this will be our big surprise for her. Hopefully we dont get as busy a night as some have discussed, but even if we do it seems like something you have to do at least once...good or bad.

Our DD did great last year on some extra magic hours, so I am sure she will be good until 11 or so.

Did it many times but stopped a few years ago as the price keeps escalating coupled with takeaways like family photo...not a great value. What we do now is make a reservation at California Grill on a MNSSHP night and watch the fireworks from the deck.
