Who is going in august/when/where

Their performances are a song and dance show. They perform a medley of songs according to a theme. Think of it as like Glee. They have 3 shows, each around 15 minutes and they do two each time. Today they perform at 11:30, 12:30 and 1:30.

The audience for the first show each day are a little thin. The second and third shows are standing room only. Not sure why. I don't think people are coming back for more. I think the timing just works better for the later shows for some reason.

Disney has been great. They have a CM assigned to escort them to/from a backstage area to get ready before and after shows.

Let me know when your group will be performing. It would be kinda cool to see them if it worked out in our schedule.

I'd love to see your show if you are performing again while we are there. any shows between the 20th and 24th?

Our kids are 10-17 yrs. and doing tap, jazz and hip hop dances. Our show is Wed. the 22nd at 4:30. The kids also have a workshop with a Disney choreographer the next morning.

How did your group end up doing so many shows?

Our group will also be there on the 22nd but our DD is missing that show for HS dance camp. Only one she is missing. Our kids are in a similar but a bit broader age range. We have a couple of 19 yo and some around 10-12.

We are a local group and were contacted by Disney and asked to do the shows. Disney wants all corners of the park to be active to help keep crowds spread throughout DCA.

My DD loves tapping the most but unfortunately it isn't a part of the show they do for DCA.

I will talk to DW and see if we can make it over on the 22nd. I will send you PM if so.

Just thought I'd report on some things from our trip in case anyone is interested in our experiences. I was there Wednesday evening, Thursday, and Friday afternoon.

Wednesday
Incredibly hot. The train at Main Street Station was ridiculous around 4:30pm. The trains arriving were packed, and barely anyone was getting off, so there were only maybe 10 new passengers able to board each time. After 2 trains came and went, with me barely moving in line, I just gave up and got out of line (I was solo while I waited for family to arrive). Line for Pirates was only about 15 minutes long at most around the same time. Our favorite time to go is at night when it's dark, less crowded, and while the crowds are watching fireworks/Fantasmic. So we were able to pack lots in later in the last few hours until midnight.

Thursday
Even hotter and more crowded. Went to CA Adv for part of the day. Line for Ariel was, as usual for us, maybe less than a 5 minute wait to get on. Ate at WW Snacks (nachos are a must for us). Around 3pm, the fast passes for RSR had been long gone it seemed, and the standby wait time was 110 minutes! We stuck to indoor things for the most part that didn't require much waiting (Turtle Talk with Crush--just showed up 5 minutes before the show; Aladdin show--again, just showed up 5-10 minutes before the show and were able to walk right into the theater without having to wait outside in the sun). After dark at DL, again, we were pretty much able to walk onto most rides that we wanted to.

Friday
Hottest day of them all. Didn't even arrive until just after 1pm, though. Youngest DD had been begging to see the fairies. The line seemed shortish, but we waited 30 minutes to see that darn Tinkerbell! Eldest DD rode Star Tours while we waited (standby was only 35 minutes at the time). Snow White ride was maybe 5 minutes to get on (neither DD liked it and thought it was dumb). Line for HM said it was 15 or 20 minute wait, but we were on in only 5. Got a table within 2 minutes at Cafe Orleans (and finally had the pomme frites! Wowed both DDs with the monte cristo, too).

We did more things on all days and rode more rides than I mentioned, but these were things that stood out to me that I figured I'd mentioned.

Hello from Disneyland! Taking a break after a delicious brunch. We started for CA early Thursday morning. Went to Crater Lake for a picnic and short hike. Stopped by SIL for dinner and made it to our hotel in Redding T about ten. Started off at six for DL and pulled into the hotel at 4. I was surprised by the construction and traffic but it wasn't too bad of a drive. Luckily the car rental place called with the large van that we wanted. the trip so much easier with the kids. The gas is $$$ though!!

Went to DCA last night for dinner. We had our first look at Carsland! Just WOW!!! We love the Tea Party! Lines aren't too bad. Ended out night with our tradition of riding Grizzly over and over. <3

This is our free day. We decided to skip the beach and sleep in. We all needed it after yesterday. Heading to Downtown Disney soon with dinner ressies at Goofys Kitchen tonight.

Our APEE for DCA is tomorrow!!!

Sounds like everyone is enjoying themselves! We're in Mesa, AZ currently visiting family for the first part of our trip. We'll be leaving tomorrow am for DL and hopefully will get into the parks tomorrow afternoon/evening (we may end up having to visit family though). The kids can't wait to get to the parks, and of course neither can I!

We'll look out for the dancers, my oldest DD would LOVE to dance at Disney!:)

Have a great time everyone! pixiedust:

Let the anxiety dreams begin! Less than two weeks to go and I just had a dream that we forgot to go to carsland and lost one of our park tickets. Also we were at EE hour and dh wanted to just rest on a bench instead Of hustling through fantasyland. I am a nutcase!

Lol I had a dream last night that the whole day was mixed up! We drove all the way from az to ca only to find I forgot the tickets at home so we flew back and then back to dl, My dd never opened her pre Disney presents so she didn't have her autograph book, water (from her Disney water bottle, and we missed her birthday dinner at Ariel's grotto. All the rides were "sold out" which I'm assuming is coming from me stressing about fp's...it was a disaster!! I surely hope both of our stays are not as stressful as our dreams. :)

Just checking in from the DLH! In short, we are all having a blast. Our night before departure none of us slept well ( I didn't get 1 2 hour stretch of sleep due to thunderstorms rolling through and DS being scared). It is HOT here. We succumbed and bought the mister/fan combo from Disney.

We're in Frontier again next to the room we had the last time we were here. I thought the park this morning seemed pretty light. Tomorrow is Carsland and 6 am wakeup.

We did Goofy's Kitchen last night and it was wonderful. Pretty quiet with plenty of attention from the characters. DS has been so excited and happy. (though he requested Goofy's Kitchen again for lunch today, and dinner today). This is just the perfect age to be here. He LOVEs the characters. (he keeps on grabbing onto someone's hand and trying to get them to do something). He also LOVES the headboard-constantly playing the music.

Hope everyone else's trips are going well and the wait is short for everyone else!

We are currently sitting at the Big Thunder Jamboree 10 minutes before show time and there are only 8 people here....granted it is hotter than blazes, but at least it's shaded. Who wouldn't want to see Billy Hill??? We were pleasantly surprised to get into the parks at 8:45 this morning (straight from our drive) and got RSR FP within 15 minutes with a 4:30 return time...I'm so excited to ride!!

Wow, these APEE mornings are incredible! Today was our DL morning. The place was empty, Rode PP, Matterhorn, and ST multiple times without getting off! Most everything walk on until ten. Just finished lunch at Cafe Orleans. Decided to take a break. We have our pockets full of FPs for later.

My teenagers have enjoyed the last couple of nights at the Mad Tea Party (and I've enjoyed the drinks!). Probably stop by again tonight.

:)

We're here too! Lazy 8 am morning at DL, walked on most rides. Went over to CA, waited 20 minutes for Mater's Jamboree. Chillin' in the hotel and headed to the beach this afternoon. Beautiful weather and light crowds for our morning!

If you see and old man, 6'4', grey hair, 210 lbs, wearing a pirates hat, white tank or hawaiian or tank say HI...................I do not bite.
