Who is going in Aug/Sept and does NOT have free dining?

We are. We originally booked with the special 40% room discount code that came out during the spring. In order to use the free dining promotion, we would of had to check in a few days earlier.....in the end, we did not want to change our dates just to save a few dollars.

We booked for 8/17-8/24 in antipation of free dining, but we come home 2 days before it starts :rotfl:

I did manage to use the ZJZ ? Code and saved $518 off our MYW pkg w/ dining :thumbsup2 for 7 nights... so it's "ALMOST" free dining (our dining plan is $700 for the 2 adults/2 kids).... :)

We are not getting free dining because we're staying in the villas. So, yes, we are paying for the DDP. I ALMOST regret that we bought into the Boardwalk Villas because of how much cheaper our trip could be. (If we'd gone with 3 moderate resort rooms. Instead we had to use two years of points and rent a bunch more!) On the other hand we're staying in a grand villa and I'm sure the accomodations will be worth it.

We are going in Sept and don't have free dining, but we are on the DDP. My husband is in the Army and we found out we are moving a few weeks ago. So we decided since it's on the way to our next duty station, we would stop by for a few days and take a vacation. He is gone alot so it's nice that we get to spend time together. Unfortunately we never get to plan months ahead for vacations. BUT we are going to be living 7 hours away from the mouse and will try to make multiple trips while we are there.

We are going in two weeks for our honeymoon and do not have free dining, but we are paying for the DDP. We decided to "splurge" since it is our honeymoon. We were able to use the most recent code though and it makes our DDP "almost" free

We'll be there in 3 weeks, too early to get free dining. We're paying for the dining plan, and with the current code, free dining would only have made a difference of about $25/night. Since the point of this trip is to be at WDW on DD's birthday, we wouldn't have changed our dates for any discount, and with booking at the last minute, I'm just glad we didn't end up with rack rate.

I had free dining but cancelled it because I was able to use a bonus vacation from Interval International to get a studio at Saratoga Springs for $226 for the week. After purchasing the DDP, it is still costing less than it would have for me to stay at All Star Movies! :dance3:

We booked Aug 19-26th in hopes of free dining...oh, well! We are paying for DDP because my DD14 and I love good food and love to eat it too. My DU agent did manage to get us a discount and saved us about 326.00. Not free food, but every little bit helps!

I had free dining booked!!!!
I was booked at WL CL HM suite with a package...after the new discounts came out, I changed to YC CL package (paying for dining) for abt the same price..I couldnt pass up the rate of $360/night at YC CL!

We are DVC and staying at the Boardwalk on points from Aug 26 to 31. So no free dining for us. We did not pay for the DDP because I don't like to eat much when it is so hot. I have one ADR at Crystal Palace for the night we are doing the Pirate and Princess party but other than that we plan to eat CS or just snack or cook in our villa. We're going again in November for our "food" trip. I am paying for the DDP that week and have my ADR's already booked.

We'll be there Aug. 15-24 and no free dining for us. Had our plans and was hoping to do the free ddp, but the dates didn't work for us. Yes we'll be paying for the ddp for 4 of our 9 nights.

We will be at YC for ten days , paying for DDP and checking out the day it starts for free! We did FDP last fall and want to possibly enjoy lighter crowds - ??? Plus - the deal we got at YC was a once in a lifetime rate!!

I booked in anticipation of free dinning (Aug 13-21). I got a great rate on SW so I booked and crossed my fingers. Oh well, some you win some you don't. My parents room qualified for a discount a few weeks back but not mine.

We will be at WDW for 9 days in September staying at BWV and AKV on DVC points, so no free dining for us. We will be paying for the DDP upon arrival.

Staying at WL end of August on a good PIN rate and not doing DDP, free or paid. Don't want to spend that much time on meals (just have ADR for CG) and DS12 wouldn't come close to getting our money's worth on adult fare. This trip is about making the most of our time in the parks....

were staying at SSR on points 10 of us on paid ddp, then the 10 of us 2 nights room only pop.then 5 nights Free ddp
Paulh

I had the chance to get free dining at Pop but we would have had to purchase at least one day's admission for the both of us and we already have tickets so I passed then the very next day we decided to change resorts from Pop to CSR, I called back and they were offically sold out. I thought about buying the dining plan but my hubby was like "well..." We only have three ADR's this trip and the rest of our meals would have been CS meals and not really worth it for us. So no free dining or dining plan.

No free dining for us, but we are paying for it. I waited too long and then Pop was not available. We wanted Pop, so we are paying full price plus dining. There's always next year....

Me! Was booked for free dining at POP, then decided to buy DVC, so cancelled POP and am staying on points at BWV and paying for the dining plan. The cost of the two trips was nearly identical.
