If you have to change planes and go from Terminal F to Term A, how difficult is it? I was looking at the map and it seems to be a haul.

Is anyone familiar with the airport that could help me? I'm flying US Airways.

I'm not that familiar with the airport but I do know there is a train you can take from A to F.

It is quite a hike from F to A there is a shuttle that takes you inside security from F to E/D but it is still close to a 15 minute walk to A

shuttle.

But I love the cell phone waiting lot. They have the boards to let you know when a flight has arrived.

Thanks Bookwormde, that's what I was looking for. Someone who's familiar with the airport and could give me information about catching a connecting flight.

If anyone else can help I'd appreciate it, cell phone lots are of no use to me. Thanks.

There is another airport shuttle from F that goes directly to A-East. Check out the map: http://www.phl.org/flashterminalmap.html Click on the "bus ... plane" icon at the top of the page.

The shuttles leave the F terminal near gate 10, and the "F Terminal" food court (Great Chinese!). They are well marked, and run quite often. Don't think of walking from F to A. Take the shuttle.

Did you already book the ticket? If not, I would pick a different connecting airport. I assume USAir? CLT is easier for connections. I've connected though PHL 3 or 4 times and everytime it was a hassle.

PHL is no better or worse than other major airports. I've had good and bad experiences in PHL, CLT, ORD, LAX, IAD, and many others. I've flown MANY commuters into PHL, with connections most often in B/C. I get where I need to go. Unfortunately, we no longer live in the "golden age of air travel".

One plus about CLT... it has a great Cinnabon! Of course PHL has two food courts B/C, and F

I disagree. I fly alot for business and many times on USAir (but not recently since they deserted PIT). I always had a hassle through PHL. I've had better luck through CLT or PHX (when flying west). Or even ATL on Delta. The problem with PHL is it is in the congested northeast corridor. If it clouds over, ATC starts limiting fights. One time we sat on the ground at MSP for 3 hours waiting to get clearance to fly to PHL because of low clouds. Finally get to PHL, my connection was cancelled. Got on one of the 3 delayed flights to PIT. Then my luggage did not make it of course. Even the pilot said after takeoff that we finally escaped PHL. Ask any business traveler, they will tell you not to connect through PHL if you can help it. Actually now, I just avoid USAir all together.

Totally agree the Northeast corridor is congested! I have sat on the runway at MDT, and even IPT waiting for clearance on a clear day without another plane near the runway.

As for horror stories at airports, I could give you volumes from IAD, and ATL due to weather, etc.

Thanks, I purchased my ticked 2 weeks ago and leave tomorrow. It's suppose to be bad weather tomorrow. I have no confidence in this trip at all. I've connected at other airports for business, but never PHL and I've been told it's a nitemare. I only have 50 minutes to make the connecting flight.
