Hello fellow die-hard conventioneers...

Linda is opening up registration for the SECOND night for the Fantasmic Dessert Party...allowing us to start making plans for MVMCP and other *important* events.

My question is this...I do not plan on riding the Tower of Terror, so this does not factor into my decision. But I definitely want to do MVMCP with as many other DIS'ers (that I 'know') as possible.....

So, when are you doing what? ;)

Thanks everyone. :D

Tia

Thank you for making this post, because I am curious what everyone else is going to do, too.

I may change my mind, if I see a lot of people that I have met here are going to do different nights like you are wondering about.

I would like to do the Terror of Terror event and the dessert event on the same night, Thursday, November 29, 2001. Especially if the Tower of Terror event is only going to be held on one night.

If the above is true, then I guess that I would like to go to the MVMCP on Friday, November 30, 2001.

I see the EPCOT Meal and the Illuminations Dessert event will be on Saturday, December 1, 2001.

But what about planning time for all the other mini events like the Fantasyland adventure and the Emu? meet and Dole Whip meet and the Thrill Rides event and the Karaoke event and the behind the scenes event and the pin-trading event and the many other events that I can't remember that people are talking about,

WOW! We need an on-line calender of events like the birthday calender where I can click on each day to see each event to see what is offered that day with the time, name of the event and host person's name and possibly an alphabetical list of who wants to sign up.

I say on-line because my WebTV cannot download and cannot use that Adobe download thing which is a real pain...hint...hint...LOL.

O.K., Now that I apparently have written a book of a post here, who's next, and you don't have to write a book like me, LOL.

Ditto what Ray said!!!

I want to do ToT and dessert/Fantasmic on the same night.

I don't think I want to do the Christmas Party...or do I??? I'm so confused!!!!!:bounce:

Have people actually registered for some of the events??? I thought everything was still in the planning stages. Am I supposed to be letting someone know what things we want to participate in? I don't want to miss out on anything (except maybe the TOT thing - I don't think I could go on that one more than once a trip.

Wow Ray! You write like I think...and like I write...LOL  ;)

LOL Kim.....and yes! You definitely want to do the MVMCP......why wouldn't you? Extra hours at MK without the crowds!?!? Of course you want to do it. :)

And mnmom22...no, you're okay. Nothing to register for yet....unless you want to do the Fantasmic Dessert party on the 30th, instead of the 29th. ;) That thread is started by Linda and can be found at the top of the first page. :D

Okay, I am leaning towards doing the Fantasmic party on the 30th, so that people who really, really, really want to do the Fantasmic party AND then throw up at the ToT event can do so. :p :p :p

I do not want people to be getting the wrong idea here. The Dis meets that we are having are optional..pin meets, Dole whip meet, thrill rides.. those are up to you whether you want to attend or not.. and we have not even scheduled those times in yet..

So just keep your eyes here and we will keep you informed..I am also planning a Dis convention chat in the next few weeks and it will be on a Wednesday Night, my night to host chat..so you can get questions answer there as well..

Thanks Marsha. No confusion here.

The convention-scheduled events are spread out and do not overlap eachother.

The other mini meets will be spread out too, but they will probably (most definitely ;) ) overlap eachother...so we'll have to pick and choose which of those to attend in between the convention-scheduled events.

I like the tower of terror, but not enough to do two hours. I would rather do the mvmcp on Thursdays, because everything that I have read in the boards seem to indicate that Fridays are usually very crowded.

Yes, I'd like opinions on which night is less crowded. I'd love to do the TOT ride, BUT I could stand to miss it IF Thursday night is a lot less crowded. Please all you long time experts please let us know.

I'd also like to know when we order the theme park passes for the con. and if we can get passes for more than 5 days? As I recall, the 5 days were $202. Is that correct?

Also, if we come up early, how will we get the passes? will they be sent ahead of time?
Sorry for so many questions.
Gerri

Good question about the park passes Gerri.

How would you get them? Hopefully they will be sent.

I'm buying mine at TDS so I can use my discount. Is Pete's deal better than that?

Don't know how much @ TDS, but I think they were getting us a good deal for the convention at $202 for a five day hopper that includes 1 day at Disney Quest too.
Open to any corrections here. How much are they at TDS (?)

I am planning on going to the MVMCP on the 29th. I am hoping that a Thursday night won't be as crowded as a Friday night. I will also be doing hte CLP on Saturday.

That's about as far as I have gotten in planning.

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I've never done either of these, so that is why I need to ask this...

Can you do the Illuminations Dessert Party on the same night as the CLP? Are they different events?

Pardon my ignorance in this area. ;)

They hold the CLP (Christmas Light Processional) three times everynight starting at 5:00 P.M., and the dessert event is special, I think.

I like to do the CLP package for a dinner, seat and shopping discount for that day at EPCOT.

But I think the dessert event includes dinner and then that dessert at that special marked off area to watch Illuminations.

Click here for link to CLP

You could take a chance and hope for low crowds at the 5:00 show and get in free about 10-20 minutes before showtime after the reserved people have had a chance to find a seat or buy a 5:00 P.M. ticket.

I am going on a separate night with a package, but I would love to meet you and go anytime.

December is my favorite time to go.

I've got a guidemap from last year if you would like me to mail it to you.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone had a color scanner to make copies for on-line use available to everyone to see what it looked like last year.

I start my 6 night stretch tonight, but please let me know if you have any questions. Ray
:D

The TOT is one of my very favorite attractions at WDW, so my DH and I are going to do the Fantasmic Dessert Party on Thursday the 29th with the TOT event afterward. We added on a few nights after the convention, so we'll be doing MVMCP on Sunday the 2nd. I think we'll do the Candlelight Processional on Tuesday the 4th. I'm going to leave Friday open for mini-meets. Maybe we'll do the Luau at the Poly Friday night, as my hubby has never done it. It all depends on when the mini-meets are scheduled for.

Since the MVMCP hasn't been held on Sunday nights before, do you think that maybe that night willnot be as busy as some of the others? We could schedule ours for Sun Dec 2 as well.

So, let me see if I have this right yet  ;) ;)

I could try to do the 5:00PM CLP (on my own) on any night...preferably once that is open of course! ;)

Then I could do the dinner at EPCOT (as an event), and end the evening with the Illuminations dessert party (as an event)?

The more I think about it, I think I should keep the 29th and 30th open for scheduled events and mini meets--since this is when most DIS'ers will be there--and do MVMCP on Sunday the 2nd--when a lot of DIS'ers have already left. YES! I think this sounds like a great plan for us.

And I think I will do the Fantasmic dessert event on Friday night since I'm not a big ToT fan (and that's putting it 'nicely' LOL)...leaving space open for those who want to do both the Fantasmic and ToT events on the same night. :D

Preliminary Itinerary For Me

Tuesday Night
Dinner with other early DIS'ers. ;)

Wednesday Night
Scheduled Reception Events and mini meets.

Thursday Night
***OPEN***

Friday Night
Fantasmic Dessert Party

Saturday Night
Dinner at EPCOT
Illuminations Dessert Party

Sunday Night
MVMCP...and hopefully dinner with some DIS'ers before hand. ;)

Monday Night
Our last night...will probably try to do something fun with other convention stragglers. :p

This looks do-able. ;) I'm sure it will change many more times before it's FINALIZED though. ;)

*sigh* every time I think I get this thing all straightened out I end up more confused!

We are alos going to do 12/2 for the MVMCP, My DS is cohosting the thrill meet - I am doing a pin meet and we are not missing either ToT/Fantasmic or Illuminations.

Ok anybody else bringing rollerblades!!!!

No where to fit in the CLP?!?!?!

luvdsny,

Candlelight Processional - without the dinner package, you will need to get in the standby line at least 1/2 to 1 hour before the show time. Check the crowd to judge how early you need to get in line. This show is fantastic and not to be missed! In fact, we like sitting in the back because it give you a better view of the entire stage. Show lasts about 45 minutes, which gives you plenty of time to have dinner and attend the dessert party. Historically, because of the Candlelight Processional, Illuminations is scheduled for 9:30 PM instead of the usual 9 PM thoughout the holiday season.

I'm still on the fence about our date for the fantasmic dessert party and the ToT. DH had back surgery last year and avoided all these types of attractions during our May trip this year..and I don't know if he will feel up to trying them out later this year. Plus, I tend to feel one ride on the ToT is enough for me..I'm afraid if I do too many my stomach will not be thanking me! lol!!

I also caution all who are making their plans around the Sunday MVMCP dates. The dates released are still considered tentative, and last year the tentative dates were changed when the tickets went on sale. They've never had a Sunday party date in the last few years. If they hold, I think that would be a great evening to give it a try! We will be there 11/27 - 12/9 this year..so if the schedule holds we are leaning towards the sunday date..and possibly Thursday too. We love this event!

Looking forward to meeting you all!
