Who is a DVC Member on the West Coast?

I'm not in So Cal-now anyway! I was born there, but live in Oregon now! I am definitely on the West Coast though!:cool1:

DH and I were both born in CA, but now we live in WA. We're likely to buy GC DVC, would definitely make use of it, and would use the valet parking if we drive down or if we rent a car.

I used to live in WA too. That's actually where we moved to when we left CA. Kind of backwards, huh? LOL
We might go to DL again if they put DVC there, but we really prefer DW!

Hello Neighbor! Don't you wish you were at DL or DW after this cold, snowy weather? :goodvibes

Lisah, I won't be wishing for too much longer! Check out my ticker . . . only weeks until I'm basking in the warm Disney sun.

SF here ;) glad to hear bout GC DVC - been using pts at GC since after we came back from DW 2000 trip when we joined - anyways - planning our trip for June'07 to DW w extended family already made ressie at SSR 2 bdrm + 1 studio - Bay Area folks - wondering if anybody can help and tell me which airlines you use - prefer direct if there's such a thing ;) - from SFO or SJ to MCO - can't seem to find any deals right now - 5 adults 2 teens and a toddler from the bay area and 2 seniors from Vancouver,BC (most probably will take AlaskaAir - MCO direct ) this will be my immediate family's first time back to DW as DVC members since 2000 - and first time DW trip for the rest of the group - would love to be able to go more often to DW but with airline prices and almost whole day gone just getting there - - - love the flexiblity of the pts though, lots of places to use it here out west

Unfortunately no one flies nonstop out of SJO, you will always have to stop at a hub.

Out of SFO Delta, United an US Air go nonstop.

Personally I prefer American Airlines and use them. I usually can find some good deals for them on Orbitz both for flying out of SJO or SFO. With American you will have one stop at Dallas where you will need to change planes.

Jemiaule - Thanks for the info - guess we'll have to be vigilant and watch those airline's fare in the next few months and hopefully find some bargains :wizard:

Please forgive my naïveté, I'm a new DVC member, but has the GCH at DLR been accepting DVC points for stays in the past? I never knew that. Well... granted, there's a whole world of DVC I never knew, but that one's interesting.

Do you get to park at GCH for free when you're just going to DL or DCA and not staying at the hotel?

The points are a part of the Disney Collection in your member vacation planning book. Last year, they were very high when compared to the DVC resorts, but this year the values are lower on weekdays and really high for the weekends. Three nights this summer is going to cost me 90 points at the Grand. We never stay on the weekends, so it's nice that they lowered the totals for the weekdays.

Unfortunately, you do have to pay for parking if you are not staying at the resort. There is a security outpost that confirms that you are staying at one of the hotels before they let you in to the resort parking lot. When we just go to visit DL, we use our annual passes and the parking was paid for when we purchased them. It adds another 42 dollars to the cost of your annual pass, but we go so much.

We have Premium APs, I was just wondering if the GCH honored DVC members for free parking the way WDW resorts do. It would be nice to be able to park closer in and not have to wait in the lines for the tram, but it sounds like, from your post, that that's not an option.

Perhaps after the 50 units get built at GCH... here's hoping!
