What a sweet story about Chase -- hopefully those first few days were the worst difficulty he'll ever have to face. My mom was sick when both my brother and I were born and she couldn't hold either of us for the first week or so. I held Steve before she did - hard to imagine now that he's 6'4"!
Well I survived our Christmas Eve last-minute hosting, and it was pretty nice! We got off to a rocky start, with DB and his GF arriving late and the girls being crabby and my parents sniping at everyone, but after church and dinner it was much better. Maybe because the kids were too busy opening presents to crab at each other?
The last present was the calendar with the Disney trip written in it. Lyzzie saw the "open me" sticker on the front right away, and accidentally opened to Feb where it says, " Home from Disney World" on the 1st - she nearly tore the page out getting back to January! Emma didn't get it, so I said, "We're going to Disney World! That was your last present!" and she started frantically looking around the living room, saying, "Where is it? I don't see Disney World?!" It was too cute.
My mom bought all of the "kids" (the girls, me, and DB/GF) paddle balls. Y'know, the paddle with an elastic string and a ball on the end. They were the first things opened and a HUGE hit! Tomorrow I'll post some pictures that are too hilarious of everyone playing with them. I think Dad kind of wanted one too, he kept taking my Barbie one.
And most importantly and most exciting of all...

I GOT A NEW CELLPHONE!! One with a slide-out full keyboard for texting, just like I wanted! And it's an MP3 player too. VERY cool. I can't wait to activate it! I have to take it to the Sprint store so they can transfer all my stuff, but I think I can activate it tomorrow over the phone. It looks like this one:
Dad had a little fun and preloaded it with a scary closeup picture of himself.
Well the girls are silent, so I have to check on them and then go play Santa. I still need to clear my data out of Lyzzie's DS games and wrap them, and wrap up the Bon Jovi tickets too. And of course I have to eat Santa's cookies and milk, and leave a nice note for the girls.
Hope everyone's having a GREAT holiday!

I just woke up and wrapped a couple of more gifts. I love sitting here with the tree lit. I think my mom was disappointed that I didn't stay over at their house, but I just wanted to be at my own home for once. I need to stop feeling guilty because I'm the single/no children one. My sister and family are over at her in-laws in order to spend most of Christmas Day with us at my aunt's.
). From the pizza place, my mom, sis, the kids and I went to Macy's downtown to see the windows. This is the first year that they have done it in a long time and they are gorgeous!!!! My niece insisted on a sleepover and at first my nephew wanted to stay too, until he realized momma wasn't staying, so it was just Isabella. I pulled out the sofabed and had a slumber party with hot cocoa and Christmas movies in the living room.

Hope you find baby Jesus! I have heard of people who leave Him out of the nativity until Christmas Day, but we never did. Our nativity currently includes the usual suspects, plus a tiny dog and a big red plastic penguin. I have no idea why, but I think he's there to stay. Yesterday in church they did a little nativity play, and when the angel came around Emma said, "Is that Gloria?" She also really liked the Gloria song... y'know where she's in a celsius day-o.

See you in the morning!!
