Oh Lesa...I feel I can see the 'little bear' coming out in Maddie. They get so crabby...as if poor breathing isn't enough...the meds make them crazy. Has she ever had to take steroids...watch out.

YM - well it would've been sweet dreams, but my dreams were I guess not as sweet as they might have been.
I'm down at the lake this weekend. Not exactly the most populated area around. A GF of mine (dh's hunting buddy's wife) and I are hangin' out, watched Premonition, talked, decided to go to bed around 11:30.
DH and buddy decided they are going to sleep at another buddy's hunting ranch instead of here. No big deal.
So i'm laying here in bed listening to disney park music on my iPod, looking at YM's pic, chattin up with some divers, and THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP!!!
Four rapid pounds in a row - sounds to me like one of the guys is banging on the back window - initially it scared the crap out of me, but then I realized it was probably one of the guys. Why they didn't have their key, I don't know.
So I get up to investigate, and there's no one there! There's no one around the front either - I kept the doors closed - peeked out the windows. Bear in mind, I don't spook easily. I was about to wake up GF (who DOES spook easily, unlike me), when here she comes out of her room. She said she was dozing off and said it sounded like gunshots. Four rapid ones in a row. Explains why I thought it was thuming with my iPod on. At this point it's probably 12:30 ish, and I've got the beejeebers scared out of me. I turn on all the lights, I peek out all the windows, until I finally went back to bed some time between one and one thrity. I slept, but not well! I guess it turned out to be nothing - i'm assuming a neighbor shot a coyote or something.... at 12:30 in the morning.

morning to all, I slept in and it felt great....just making some cinnamon twists for breakfast. We might walk over to Art in the Park, an annual art fest that we go to every year. I hope it wont rain, the past few days have been rainy & gloomy! the weather has been a little cooller, (in the 80s instead of 90s) usually its really hot for this event!

Oh my goodness we had such a hectic morning! We headed out to the urgent care clinic at my dr's office, after confirming that Lyzzie's pediatrician is closed today. Got all the paperwork filled out, then was told they don't take her insurance. Great. So we went to my mom's house (which we were near) and got the ins. co's phone number -- their customer service line is closed, but their nurse line is open. So they gave me the name of a clinic to go to, and they gave me Lyzzie's ID number because for some reason they've never sent us a card. I called the other clinic -- yes they take her insurance, yes they are open. So off we went, and guess where this place is? Inside a Walgreens, across the street from my house. Grrr!! Got all checked in and oops... they won't see her because we don't have a card. I argued that the insurance company sent me there, and their own eligibility line that you have to call during checkin approved Lyzzie for treatment, and I have the ID number. Sorry, no can do. The receptionist was nice enough to call around and find us a pediatric urgent care clinic at a nearby childrens hospital - back up by my mom's house - that will see us without a card. Back across town we go! By this time, it's past lunchtime & we've been at it all morning. Finally we got to the ped. clinic, and the lady sitting there at the check-in desk is Lyzzie's girl scout troop leader!! We got excellent care and she even gave the girls extra treats, a journal for Lyzzie and a Blue's Clues workbook for Emma. After ALL this, Lyzzie's diagnosis for the white crusty tongue is....

she BURNED her tongue!! Oh yeah, she says, I did have some hot marshmallows and hot chocolate, but they weren't THAT hot, only a little burned. Oh I could just strangle that child!! But at least we found out it's not contagious. I was worried, because her friend's mom is throwing her annual Halloween costume party tonight.

I was planning on not wearing a costume because I don't have one. Then I had a brainstorm... I'll be a TOURIST! I have Mickey ears, a lanyard, a camera around my neck, and my favorite shirt that says, "Do not disturb, Mom on vacation". Perfect!! My mom will wear my old prom dress and a tiara and be a prom queen, and my dad is going to be a pirate. He was mad at Lyzzie because she can't find her hook hand -- oh well.

You guys sure were chatty last night! I see 2x and Bonnie both made rare appearances -- hello!! And of course hi to everyone else! Hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start.

Yeah I know! At least I didn't have to pay for the visit, I'd have been really ticked if I had to pay out of pocket for the office visit only to have them tell me it's a burn!
