DH got some bad news yesterday. The company he works for has decided to discontinue letting people work from home. He WAS getting to work from home on Thurs and Fri. Now he will have to drive everyday. The drive is over 180 miles round trip...he's not a happy camper. It worked so well for him to be here when Nathan got off of the bus, too. Oh,well, what you gonna' do??!!

Well that kinda sucks. But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

YAY!! to Kenny's team for winning this weekend! Sounds to me like he's already got quite the fan club started... Mom, you need to set all these little girls straight and just let them know he's not available! We all have a wedding to go to in about 20 years!

Kenny is doing awesome! Yes, he has quite a fan base w/kids and adults... I think he will have the most people coming to watch for a 5 year old... Mikes youngest nephew is a senior in hs so his family just adores Kenny... his brother,sil, xsil, brothers xmil, his dad... they all want to come watch him play...that is so sweet! They all know Kenny from watching the nephews play hs football every Friday yes, you're right...he's NOT available
glad Erin got some flats to wear...I dress for comfort... hate to have your feet hurting like that!!!

Linda::You definitely have quite the charmer in Kenny!! He sounds like such a happy little guy, can't wait to meet him.
On the subject of cameras; DH has a Canon Rebel that he loves. Personally, I think it is too big. I like our small Canon Power Shot. DH got his for the same reason you want yours, DS's sports and activities. I almost forgot to add, he got his Rebel on sale and there was a rebae also, so keep your eyes open for that!!

I can't wait until you guys get to meet him too see what a sweetheart he is!! But I'm sure all our kids are like that to us

If and when you decide on a camera......go to a local camera store - Wolf Camera, Ritz Camera, Camera Gallery.....whatever you have available. Ask them to let you take a few pictures. See what feels good.

One major (to me at least) advantage the digital SLR has over the point and shoot cameras is shutter lag. That is the time it takes from the time you press the button to when the camera actually takes the picture. DW has this really small pocket size digital camera. But the shutter lag is awful. Probably a second to 2 seconds from the time you press the button to when the picture takes.

My Canon.....you press the button, it takes the picture. Plus, if you put it in multi-shot mode......it'll take 4 frames per second. I use that quite a bit for action shots.

I went to Cord Camera, Best Buy and Circuit City ....you are exactly right about the shutter lag...that annoys me to death w/a p&s camera! I can't wait to get the 3-5 fps... those will be great pix for the scrapbooks!!!

It was so quiet all morning, I didn't know what to do with myself. It didn't last long though. Gracie came racing through the house at lightning speed, white fluff flowing behind her. I went and looked, she had torn a hole in her bed and torn all of the stuffing out of it. She was very ashamed of herself I tell you. [insert rolling eye smilie]

I absolutely love animals...esp. dogs...but things like this reminds me that I'm glad we no longer have any animals... Like your new siggy!!

Mike got bad news last night (well, kinda). His aunt called and said that his dad has been having seizures and was in the hospital. However, no one else called Mike. Not his sister, mom, grandmother, no one. His aunt claims to have spoke to Mike's grandmother (but they have both been known the get things wrong). Mike doesn't want to call his mom, because if nothing is wrong, she will get mad that the grandmother was gossiping (can you say DRAMA). So, right now we are just waiting to see what happens.

Awww Amber I hope everything is ok w/Mikes dad. When Mikes dad had a stroke no one called him ...said they didn't know the #.

DH went and looked at that mobile last night - he really liked it, too. It's still more $$ than we were wanting to spend... but anything that was in our original price range is uninhabitable. Our DVC's long paid off, but we've got college staring us in the face! And like most middle class Americans, we have our share of debt already. *sigh* If I know my DH, we'll buy it - when he gets an idea there's no changing his mind. I just have to remember, it's an investment, it's an investment...

Good morning! (Me right now after my 3 cups of coffee). I think I am going to tackle cleaning my basement before it all wears off! If I don't come back send in the troops as I may be lost somewhere down there.

Our air conditioning is not working properly (I run it 24/7, even in the winter! ) so Jeremiah is trying to thaw it out with a hairdryer. I hope it works!!

Well I don't think we will be needing our air any time soon, it is so cold here today. High of 57 I think it's time to get someone out here to fix the furnace or we'll all be this winter. It broke at the end of last season and we said we have plenty of time, well time is running out now! We may just be using a hairdryer to thaw us out.

Donna...Thanks for the danish! Cheese is my favorite! Sorry to hear about your dh not being able to work from home. It sounds like an awful long drive.

I think the book Marley and Me was written about Grace! I think Grace was Marley in her previous life. I would love to let her out to run in the yard, but she always manages to get out and run away. Everytime we think we found where she is getting out she finds a new way.

Michele....Crocks are butt ugly! I tried to wear Brittany's but every time I look down it reminds me of clown feet. I'm glad Matt's knee is getting better. Brittany can't believe the boys are playing tennis. I can't wait to come home and see everyone! I will try to call you again tonight. I ended up with a migrain last night after dealing with my family again so I didn't get around to calling you.

Well back from another oh so fun day at school. We had a couple of clothes issues today. At the very end of the day one of the 8th grade boys walked past me, I got a good look at his shirt and called him back. It was for Schnapps 100% proof. Just a huge add, I don't know how we all missed it all day but He was wearing one of those zip up hoody jackets over it. I told him that he had gotten away with it all day, shame on us but to NEVER wear it to school again!! He grinned and said he was waiting for someone to call him on it all day!

Then one of the other ladies was telling me about a 7th grade boy she was helping whose pants fell down [ they wear them so big now ] Well big problem...he wasn't wearing underwear I asked how long his shirt was...her answer...not long enough!!!

Then we were told to watch for an 8th grade girl when she came into lunch, that she was, according to the counselor, showing 7,8,15 inches of cleavage and could easily pass the pencil test!! Luckily when she came in she had put on one of the boys football jerseys.

Made for an eventful day!

I was telling Blake last night about being called into the video room to identify a kid from the video tape. There are cameras in all of the halls. Matt overheard and asked if we had someone watching them all the time. Nope, we just check later if we need to. I guess the HS principal has it hooked up to a monitor in her office. He said the PA will come on at odd times and you will hear her voice..."John Doe, stop hugging that girl and go to class!!"
"Fred, come to the office and BRING THE HAT" or "Jimmy pull up your pants!" She makes no pretense that she isn't watching their every move. I love it!!

Donna...I'm sorry your DH can't work from home anymore. That must have been such a help for you. Hopefully it will all work out

I've never stayed there either but the pix are beautiful! LeCellier and Ohana are our favorites both are incredible. LeCellier was incredible food...Ohana food was good...but the view of Wishes was awesome!!! Lots of fun... Kenny really liked it too... but that's just our opinion... have you been to them? Any places you really wanna go? Yeah...Mike asked me the other day if we made our adrs and everything... uh...no babe..not yet... well you better... yes dear...I know

Well I never made it to the basement. I started cleaning out the fridg. and went on from there. At least the kitchen is all clean! I'll tackle the basement tomorrow.

Michele....Melissa's keeps her house like an ice box. She keeps her air on year round. I plugged in a heater, it's keeping my toes toasty warm! It's cloudy and 52 here with a low in the 40's.

Count me in for Feb. I can't wait, I need a vacation so bad! No DH, no kids! NO DOG!!!

Gotta run! Off to take Madison to gymnastics and she doesn't want to be late. She asked the coach if they could climb the rope today! I think she is the only child that likes to climb the rope because she is the only one that can get to the top. You should see all the girls faces when she asks to do the rope. It's not a happy face.
