I have mom-vision, which can see the path my children have created on the disaster of their floors so that I can pick my way through their room.

I have super-hearing that can differentiate between normal play and getting in trouble in an instant.

I have the gaze of death! With one look I can freeze a child into place and with the lift of an eyebrow can get them to instantly reverse course and stop doing what they are doing.

I can see what people are trying to hide.

I can tell in someone's first week on the job if they're going to play office politics.

I can be invisible yet be standing right in front of you.

I know what DH's thinking before he thinks it.

I can tell by merely picking up an ear of corn if it'll be a good one or a bad one.

I hear EVERYTHING.

I have the patience of Job and I WILL wait you (generic you) out. Count on it.

I can spend two or more hours in an empty room staring at a wall and be completely and blissfully entertained the entire time.

I can look at a gemstone and know what it is.



I thought this was a silly thing, but when DL had Diane's in NOS, I would go in and say,"That is a LOVELY garnet bracelet" and the saleslady would ask how I knew it was garnet and not ruby. They just look different to me. Garnets are more often a strong red and rubies are a more watery red. She said most people can't do that.


I wish this skill paid money.
