Who has used Mears Town Car Service?

Rates are $70, not bad.

Any experiences out there?

I've used Mears several times, but will not again after the last experience with them. I had reservations, but it still took 30 minutes to get my ticket. I waited over an hour before leaving the airport and was the last person to be taken to my hotel. It was three hours from landing to getting to my hotel.

In November I used a towncar service, even though it was just me. It was worth every penny. On this trip I was in my hotel room within a hour of landing.

We used Mears towncar to travel between the old Marriott (now Holiday Inn) at Hotel Plaza and the Hard Rock in 2003. It was a surprise for my DH and it was lovely. The vehicle was a Lincoln towncar and driver was very nice. I think Mears charged us $26 and I also tipped the driver.

We once used them, although it was inadvertent! Normally we use Happy Limo, but one night we were having someone we know pick us up instead. To make a long story short, they did not show and we couldn't reach them. There was a Mears towncar driver waiting for a party who did not show up...since we were all in the same boat (or I guess that would be opposite boats), we ended up going with him instead of a cab. The towncar was nice and clean, and he was courteous; he did end up getting lost, but in all fairness we were going to a confusing destination and there was no way he would know due to the spontaneous nature of our hiring him. All in all, it was not a bad experience; better than a cab.
