I've heard good things about them on here... after waiting 27 minutes on hold they wouldn't even give me a quote w/out a membership. Is it worth paying $45 just to get a quote? Did they save you that much $$$? I have great prices from other ta's but would hate not to have even further savings because I didn't want to pay the $45 membership? I use to get AAA before when they had the soda mug deals, but that is now history thankfully!! Any info would be greatly appreciated! I did a search but didn't come up with much.. TIA!

I don't think its worth it just for travel. Try DU, Kingdom Magic Travel (who I use - antkim is a DIS'r), and AAA - you will find they give you as good a deal or better than Costco.

I did use Costco and got a great rate, but try some of the others before buying a membership if you are worried. They will give your membership fee back if you are not satisfied for any reason. Try www.cruisequick.com They were much lower on my cruise NEXT WEEK  than anyone else at the time.

I joined Costco just to get the cruise discount. I'm sure I'll get other benefits from membership when I do some shopping there (30 min. away). I was able to get them to give me a quote before joining and it was about $300 less than anywhere else. They just told me I couldn't book it until I joined. Maybe it depends on who you talk to what they'll do for you. Do you have a friend or neighbor with a membership who would let you "borrow" their number just to get a quote?

Costco was $600 less than anyone else for my Oct Land/Sea. The biggest drawback to Costco is the long phone hold times (10 - 30 minutes). Now that I know it, I try to call first thing and I just put it on speaker and do other things while I wait.

we booked with Costco since it was cheaper and we could reserve a specific room. Yes, it took forever on hold, but once I my call was answered, the agent was very patient and did not rush me through. We probably spent 20 min. or so getting the quote and booking the cabin. It took a while to book the cabin b/c I wanted cat. 11 (or 12 can't remember) on deck 7. He had trouble booking it b/c some rooms would only sleep 3.

In general, we are Costco members and have been very pleased with our membership.

I agree with Minniesfriend. I had to hold a long time with Costco too, but once it was my turn I was not rushed and the person I spoke with took all the time needed to make sure everything was perfectly right. She noted my DS's birthday and said Costco would do something to acknowledge it as well as making sure it was noted for DCL to see. I was very pleased with their service!

We saved $200 with Costco, but we are already members. I would not join just to get travel discount. There are many other TA that offer great prices w/o having to pay $45 member fee. AAA is a good one (the give onboard credit). Costco basically takes a smaller commision to pass on savings to customer.
