Howdy, I have a schedule that I can arrange that could have me in Orlando on NYE(New Years Eve) this year. I have a pass that I could use for Park Admission but I would not be able to get to WDW until about 3pm on NYE.

I have heard that the EPCOT NYE fireworks are simply incredible, but then I have also heard that it is standard Illuminations.

Let me also add that we will already have been there for a week trip this year from Dec 7th - Dec 15th.

My reason for wanting to do this is I just LOVE WDW Fireforks. Wishes used to be my favorite but now it is Illuminations and my all time favorite is the Christmas Holiday Illuminations, the one where Walter Cronkite narates.

So if I have seen Christmas Holiday Illuminations, is there a NYE fireworks that is better than that?

Questions:
I will not be staying on site, so can not use that as a guaranteed entry. I will use a day on my MYW park pass to get into the park. So can I get into the park at about 3pm New Years Day?

Which Park has the best NYE fireworks?

I will have to use Mears to get from the Airport to WDW (Dolphin/Swan) and will use Mears to get back to the Airport area after the fireworks? Any problems there that NYE will bring?

Thanks for all of your input!!!!

Side note, are there any other fireworks times that are extra ordinary? Fourth of July for example?

Good question...I want to know too. I've never been at Christmas before so I've just seen the 'regular' fireworks.
I'll check with my Orlando friends.

Does anyone have any experience with New Years Fireworks at EPCOT?
Thanks in advance.

I have just been looking at other sites and found a little info that may help us decide.

Epcot:celebrates the New Year "around the world" with DJs and evening dance parties plus two presentations of the "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth" lights, lasers and fireworks display -- at 7:30 and 11:40 p.m.

Mgm:celebrates New Year's Eve not only with multiple presentations of the "Fantasmic!" spectacular of Disney movies and music (6:30, 8:30 and 10 p.m.), but also with a special "Lights! Camera! Happy New Year!" fireworks spectacular at midnight, as well as a DJ dance party around the Sorcerer Hat Stage. Park hours on New Year's Eve are 8 a.m.-midnight.

Magic Kingdom:features special presentations of the "SpectroMagic" parade (at 7 and 10:30 p.m.) and multiple nighttime fireworks displays. "Holiday Wishes" lights up the sky at 8:30 p.m., and guests who make it to midnight can see "Fantasy in the Sky"

We are stuck between Mgm and Magic Kingdom!
