Who has stayed at POP-CENTURY!!!!

We are staying at Pop-Century with 7 kids ages 12-3 ,I would like to stay in a time era they will relate too. The 80's and 90's look too far away from the main enterance ,has anyone stayed at 60's and 70's, This is near the larger pool right? Also by the main enterance!!!

I havent stayed yet but we are going to in April.. I know that the 60's building is Prefered rooms (cost extra) But I heard all rooms are nice. 60's are said to be loud. hope that helps!

In September we stayed in the 70's building. It was great. Not to far from the pool or the main entrance. My DD then 3 loved it. We were near the Mickey phone. We never heard anything, including the toilets flushing. DD now says Pop is her favorite (she has been once ).

We've gone with DD11 & DS7 3 times to POP now...each time for 8 days/7 nights.

We've always stayed in the 60's buildings. The kids love it...the Hippy Dippy pool has flowers that squirt water, there's a pop-jet fountain nearby, mousekeeping has always left us towel animals.

We love it & miss it. On our last trip, DD11 cried for an hour on our last night about not wanting to leave.

We've been home from our last trip for less than 2 weeks now & already planning our next trip for May!

The 70's: They have the Big Mickey phone there, the big foos ball court and the huge Big Wheel, close by is the kiddie pool area and just a little farther is the 60s Pool.
You could stay in the 60s but it will cost I think and extra $10 per night, per room.

We loved the 70s especially the Mickey phone and Potato Heads. If the kids love the pool, you might want to be in a building that is near one, the 70s don't have one.

we have stayed at the POP last feb and the year before----all five of my kids love it!!we did stay near the pool in the preferred area (60's i think)for ease of getting to and fro---and then i could send my 12 yr old out to refill a soda, etc. and actually see his body enter the building and not stop at the pool!! all the areas are interesting----my dh always takes the kids to all the parts of the resort to get pics---they discover stuff i didn't know about!! you can easily lookup the maps for any hotel and they will show you the distance from parking, foodcourt, etc.some of the outlying buildings are quite far for little legs. then again, that's why they charge you more for those rooms.I think it is worth it when you travel with multiple children----when I went with my sis in law we opted not to and had quite a hike each night when we came back to the hotel---but we are big girls and we laughed the whole way!!!!
even though our legs ached from partying all day mickey-style. good-luck----have a great trip!

We have stayed at Pop the past 2 visits and have enjoyed each visit. We are going back March 15-21. We have stayed at the 60's, 70's, & 80's. Unless you are lucky to have a room in the 80's wing closest to the parking lot and Everything Pop, it will be a long walk. Depending on the 70's location, the same is possibly true, especially if you stay at the rooms opposite the parking lot. We always try to park in the 80's/90's lot rather than the recommended lot for the 70's. To us, it is closer! The 60's is considered the preferred room location so you will have to pay $10 more. The Main pool is neat, but nothing spectacular. However, my kids love it.

One thing to keep in mind, is that the waiting area for the buses is in front of the main center. The closest building is the 60's area and part of the 70's & 80's.

We've stayed there twice and LOVED it! I think that Pop Century is a great value. The rooms are basic, but very clean and everything you need if you aren't planning to spend a lot of time in your room (there are parks to see!!!).

We've stayed in both the 50's and the 70's sections. From a location standpoint, both were close to Classic Hall, the bus stops, and the main pool. The 50's section was quieter, but we preferred the 70's. It felt like we were a little closer to everything and our DD LOVED the Goofy Pop Jets.

I would not pay $10 a night extra for the 60's section. The back section of the 60's is further away than the areas of the 50's and 70's that we stayed in. If you decide on the 70's section, make a request and say that you would like to be close to Classic Hall. It worked for us.

We are staying there in August. I made standard room reservations, should I change them to preferred? Or isn't there much difference. Any help would be appreciated.

We stayed at Pop Last year...We payed the difference and stayed in the 60's building. We were close to the pool, the food court and bus transportation. We still walk around the entire resort one night looking at all the icons and taking pics. Great photo opts. at the lake...right behind the 60's buildings.

We learned our lesson our first time staying at a WDW resort...All Star Sports. We came back to the resort at the end of the night, tired, hot, etc. Walking all the way to our room (as far as it could have possibily been) with a 3 yr. old was NO FUN!

We stayed in the Mickey phone 70's building and LOVED it! It was fabulous - quiet, easily accessible, perfect!

In October we ended up in the Roger Rabbit 80's building. OMG!!!! It was SOOO FAR from everything! The room was nice and quiet, but it was a nightmare of a hike. And there isn't a direct path to that building, either. The first few days we were very confused trying to find our way back, and after a long day in the parks you don't really want to be LOST looking for the stupid building!

We love Pop and will very likely return there in December, but we will NOT be in the Roger Rabbit building!

we stayed in the 50`s building and had the bottom floor corner room . closest to the main lobby, i loved being so close to the lobby and not too far to walk back if you forgot something......................jmo but id rather be close to the front than any pools

We were in the 70's building, top floor, corner room, right by the Big Wheel. The walk wasn't too bad. We took a short cut around by the playground to go to our room late at night when we were tired instead of going through Classic Hall. I would definitely stay there again, but we're hoping for a 2-week trip next time, so may go with a mod for the extra space.

Last summer, we stayed in 50's Building A. We were on the 3rd floor, close to the elevator, had a great view of the pool, and were VERY close to the main building. Our locatin could not have been better!!! The huge Lady and the Tramp statues are great. After staying at Pop, I'm surprised that people choose their room location based upon theme. The resort is not that large, so you will see it all. We enjoyed just walking around the resort in the evenings, checking out ALL of the theming. Each area would be appealing to children. Least appealing for most children would be the waterfront area.
