Have an ADR for dinner ... Fantasmic package. I know I will have the grapefruit cake! but not really sure about the entree???

I've been to Brown Derby many times, and have always enjoyed the food. The tuna and lamb entrees have been my two favorites, (though I don't think the lamb is on the menu anymore.)

My family eats at The Brown Derby every time we go to WDW, usually 2 times. I may be in the minority here, but we have never had a bad meal there. Two of my favorite entrees are the Ahi Tuna and the split roasted chicken. Both have been very good every time I've had them.

My son had the worst steak of his young life at the Brown Derby last year. The entire thing was fat and generally inedible . I will not take my family back.

We have enjoyed the Brown Derby many times. Both my DH and I have enjoyed the steak and chicken. We have never been disappointed. Also, the chopped salad is very good.

Awwww ... the OP was looking for people who had good things to say; not this. Sorry, janetanne.

I do, I do!:yay: We love, love, love the Brown Derby! It's a must-do every trip for us. And everytime we eat here, it's excellent. I usually get the roasted sterling silver pork with mustard spaetzle and swiss chard. It's scrumptious! For dessert I get either the grapefruit cake or flourless chocolate cake. DH usually orders the duck 2 ways entree and grapefruit cake as well. We have always had such wonderful service here too. Our latest waiter looked like Stanley Tucci and when we told him, he said he'd pose for picture! Of course I took one of him too, he was an outstanding waiter. Also have to add that we love the atmosphere here, very old school Hollywood.:thumbsup2

We went two Christmas's ago. All of us liked the food quite a bit. DS was 18 months old at the time and passed out while we were there. It's a nice atmosphere. We also had a great server who was very attentive and friendly. We're not going this trip because we are trying some new restaurants.

I had the cobb salad. It was great!

Definitely worth a try!

If anyone asks for the one place they should definitely dine in @ WDW, I say, "Hollywood Brown Derby." (For quality food w/ a nice, for WDW, atmosphere.) Is that good enough. ;) The salad is wonderful, & more than enough to share. We share it as an appetizer for 4 of us (3 adults & a 17 yo boy). The salmon is delicious! It's funny that the steak was mentioned. My DS's GF ordered filets every day on our last visit. We ate at both signature & non-signature restaurants, & she said HBD's blew the others away. Don't be surprised if the grapefruit cake isn't as fabulous as you thought it would be. It's one of those love/hate kind of things. Personally, I think they have better desserts. Others think it's the best dessert they ever eaten. Just don't build the hype for that cake so high that if it falls short it gives you a negative opinion of the entire meal. It's really an exceptionally good restaurant.

Good soup is one of my favorite things, and the pumpkin/butternut squash soup was an outstanding appetizer!
And I agree, the Cobb Salad is always great.

We didn't eat there (we did 50's PT), but my MIL and SIL ate there without us in December. They said it was their 2nd favorite place they ate (out of 18 ADR's - Le Cellier was number one in all our opinions.) They said we really should have eatten there. So I would say give it a try.

My DH and I loved it. The most relaxing and romantic meal of our trip. We ate their for a lunch but will be doing a dinner for our next trip. We were given free Champagne for our aniversary and our food was really lovely.

We ate there on our honeymoon in October and loved it! I had the grouper entree and it was delicious.

I adore the Brown Derby. I usually have the Cobb Salad served as an entree for dinner. YUM! And grapfruit cake for dessert!!

This is what I have everytime and it is YUMMY !

We like it but we did notice that the food had slipped a couple of years back but it is back on track now :cloud9:

We love it! The Ahi Tuna is amazing, and my husband had the best steak of the trip there (he ate steak at EVERY restaurant so he had a lot to compare). The Grapefruit Cake is heavenly too. It's a must-do for us! We are doing it for the first time w/ a Fantasmic Package on our next trip. We were able to get a 4:50 ADR so it will be a late lunch/early dinner for us.

This is what we order, too. We do like the crab soup for a starter in addition to this :)

I do, I do!!!

We just tried it for the first time on our last trip and were pleasantly surprised. The service was top-notch and the food delicious. DD and I shared the crab cake, which was potato-crusted. DH and I had the pork tenderloin with the cheddar mustard spaetzel, which we would both get again. The pork was fork-tender and the spaetzel was cooked perfectly. DD had duck 2 ways - she wasn't thrilled with the duck pastrami but loved the other components of her plate. I was the only one who had dessert - the banana toffee tower. Very tasty!

We definitely plan to eat there again in August.
