I can't order AP ahead of time so DDE CM recommended ordering DDE on arrival day after purchase of AP so will have passholder numbers to read off. Sounds like I'd go to guest relations at Epcot for temp card the same day, after 5:30 or something to get the DDE card. Anyone else one this? I was planning on ordering the card 5 weeks in advance so this "same day" plan will take some getting use to.

You're a FL resident--why not just order it in advance?

We have done it & it worked out fine. A bit of running around but fine none the less. We actually had to go get the AP before hotel check-in to show for rate, then called DDE & ordered over phone & picked up at Epcot that night.

Don't forget that DDE is only open Mon-Fri.

Also, FL residents don't need an AP to order DDE.

It's $85 for FL residents vs $60 with an annual pass. I can order it w/o AP but this same day idea would save $25. Last time they just trusted me that I was going to turn my vouchers into annual passes.

They mentioned Guest Relations outside the park, I guess you park just like you were going to Epcot? I won't have a parking pass, will they let you in w/o paying just to do pickup? Are there any short term parking spaces for those doing guest relations stuff...... a tram ride and such would be sort of a hassle. Thanks for the info.

It is Guest Relations outside the park. You'll have to park just like normal. I suppose you could ask GR to refund your parking fee (This is how they do it when you go in just to eat using DDE, I think). I don't think they have to do that, but it can't hurt to ask.

You could plan to be at EPCOT anyway, or to eat dinner there...... We were using WDW transport, so I didn't think about the parking, sorry.

I didn't have any problems getting the DDE card. We arrived on a Sunday, went straight to Epcot to purchase the AP. They gave us a phone number to call for the DDE on Monday. Then Monday after 5pm, we made a quick stop at Epcots guest relations to pick up the temporary DDE card. No fuss, no muss.

I think it depends on the CM at the parking kiosk. We have done this before and the CM will just wave us through. But, in March, I explained to the CM that I was on my way to get my AP and he didn't care. I had to pay the $9 parking fee. Oh well. I think he was a newbie.

I forgot about the price difference for FL residents.

Since the Epcot GS is the only place you can p/u the DDE letter I'm fairly certain I remember people saying that the attendants let you pull all the way up front (maybe where the taxi's/buses go) so you could just jump out & grab it. When we went we didn't even have to wait in a real line. A cm was standing outside the windows with a whole box of letters just waiting for people to pick them up. Worst case, depending on where you are staying or where you will be, maybe you could monorail over.

If you already have your APs due to ordering DDE, you should be able to just show your APs and park for free. AP holders are entitled to free parking at the parks.

Won't have the kind of annual pass that gives free parking and will stay offsite this trip. I'll look for the taxi lane and try to make it a quick exchange, thanks.

? :scared:
Can I order the DDE card using my AP voucher?
I hope so as we arrive on a Saturday and I would have to wait until
Monday to order if I need to wait for my 'real' AP.

Anyone have the DDE phone number handy? I want to call May 8th to order.

Thanks!

This is exactly what we did, bought the AP, then called for the DDE, last year you had to have an active AP to get the DDE but from what Ihave read that has changed.

it all went smootly.

So, I should be able to get my AP voucher from SOG and then call for a DDE and then pick a letter for the DDE the next day at Epcot?

Correct?

What about ordering it in advance? We have friends who are going with us in June and they are getting ready to purchase their vouchers. Will the voucher let you on the passholder website now? That is how we purchased ours.
