Who has met the Captains on ship?

met all the captains - always forget who is who - at Castaway
parties. Capt. Henry is the most memorable, he has also been
standing at the exit when we depart the ship - nice touch.
Wonder which Captain will be on the west coast?

We happened to be near the gift shops when we saw a line of people waiting to meet Captain Tom Forberg and get his signature. We were really bad at checking out the Navigators so we were glad that we happened to come upon this. We got in line and shortly after that a CM stood behind the couple behind us, because it was almost time for the Captain's autographing session to end. Apparently he'd been sitting there autographing and posing for pics for a while already.

As we were almost up to the table that he was sitting at, we noticed a display of matted maps, and some people were taking them and asking the Captain to autograph the mat. The lady in front of me was asking the Captain to show her where the Magic went for the eastern itinerary (we were on the western) so he took his Sharpie pen and drew in the course, right on the map. I thought this was a great idea and when it was our turn I asked the Captain if he could draw in the course that we had taken that week because it was altered drastically from the normal western course because of Hurricane Frances. Our cruise was the one that ended up being a 10-night cruise instead of a 7-night cruise.

Even though the Captain must've been tired at this point from all of the autographing and posing and the stress from all of the changes because of the hurricane, he took his Sharpie and drew in our unique course on my map, then signed the mat. He also autographed 2 cards that featured him as a cartoon, for our sons. This meant a lot to us, that he took the extra few minutes and did this for us. We have a truly unique souvenir of our unique Disney Cruise :)

Here are a couple of pictures of the map that Capt Tom made for us, note the black lines that shows all of our stops from that cruise, including Costa Maya, Galveston, TX, and Fort Lauderdale:

I think I read somewhere that Captain Henry will be doing the repo and west coast cruises.
I met him once in the stairwell. I had just finished my early morning walk on the prominade. I really just wanted to get back to the cabin. But then how often do you get to meet the Captain? He was very gracious. Asked if we were enjoying the cruise and wanted to know if I had any questions or comments.
I don't think they do it anymore, but I remember from our 7 night eastern cruise having the ships engineer at our table. He was from Belgium. The captain was at another table. Was interresting.

How would or do any of you all know which Captain is on which ship and which date?
We are cruising May 15th 4-night Wonder? Does anyone know which captain would be on our said date?
Last year was so crazy trying to fit everything in so this year I hope we can meet one of them :teeth:

That is awesome he did that for you! What great souviners!!! I am going to purchase something like this for when we meet the captain. If I could do it without DH around and have it for a surprise for Father's Day, he would Love it!!! He would be surprised and thrilled :bounce:

I can't wait to go on our Western cruise!! Just 2 more weeks :cool1:

In February, Captain Henry was standing in the atrium as we left the ship and was very available for a parting conversation. My husband told him we knew we were in good hands since Captain Henry is Swedish (my DH's grandparents came over from Sweden). :goodvibes

We went on the 4 day Wonder in Nov 2003 and there was a time to meet the Captain and get your picture with him. We did both and he signed my sons Mickey gloves!! My son still sleeps with them. :) We leave for the western on the 26th and he wants to bring them and have this Captain sign them too!!! :teeth:

I have never actually met him other then when he walks around at dinner the last night but my family actually got the chance to eat dinner with him one night in Palo. I believe it was when we were on the cruise in 2001 or 2002. At that time I was too young to "dine in Palo" so I kept my cousins but from what I heard they had fun. They got pictures and the menu from that night.

:wizard: We went on a cruise last August right in the middle of Hurricane Charlie, and because of this we ahd to miss going to one of the islands. We had to stay and extra night in Cozemel (not the worst place to spend and extra night) and on this night our captain was walking around the ship (i think im not sure exactly what he was doing) and when we saw him we all said hi. He said hi to all of us individually and shook all of our hands, asked us about how our trip was going, and appologized for missing one of the islands. I was seventeen at the time and i was with a group of about ten kids ranging from 5-17, so I thought is was extrememly nice of him to talk to a bunch of kids. I dont remember what his name was, and i think there are a few of them, but our captian was a very nice guy.
