that "Guess the Mess" baby shower game?

Can I do that the day before the shower, or will it not look right if it's completely hardened back up?

Of course, even if I did it a couple hours before, it'd harden back up by the time we play the game, so maybe my question is irrelevent. :confused3 ;)

That is just . . . too funny.
Although my mom has told me baby poo looks more like Goulden's mustard than chocolate.

 I have never heard of that baby shower game. That sounds too gross for me.

I've never heard of it either...how the heck do you play?:confused3 You guess what the chocolate shape looks like?:confused3

yeah, what do you do......smell it? Taste it? Ick! :rotfl:

Guests have to guess which diaper is which candy bar. Melt a Snickers in one, a Milky way in another, a Hershey Bar in another, etc, then everyone tries to figure out which is which. Kind of like the old "guess the baby food from the jar with no label" game. I haven't played it yet, but have been told that it's hysterical.

We played this at one of my baby showers. For the chocolate one, we used Hersheys Syrup instead of a chocolate bar so no melting issues. Other food items that I remember off the top of my head...mustard, peanut butter, soy sauce, BBQ sauce...

The pictures from that game are hilarious...picture grandma peering into or sniffing a diaper.

ETA: looks like we played the game diffently

Should I be ashamed to admit that I did this for a baby shower I hosted?

I actually don't remember when I melted the chocolate bars, and if I did them in the diaper or not. But as gross as it sounds, it was tons of fun and a lot harder than you'd think.

You take different chocolate bars - Snickers, Twix, Reeses, etc.. and melt them in diapers. Shower guests have to guess which gooey mess is which candy bar.

Can I just say that I'm not one for traditional shower games? :thumbsup2

 OMG, I read that "picture grandma peeing into...." :rotfl2:

I have played the game at a shower I hosted and everyone enjoyed it. Try to find some of the old candy cars that are not real well known anymore. I put the chocolate in the diaper and set them outside in the sun for about an hour before the shower. Granted I live in Florida and it was July so it did not take long for them to melt.

You could microwave the diapers right before the game. The warmth would be more realistic anyway.:scared: :lmao:

FWIW...I don't like this game, and it's been at every baby shower I've been at the last few years. Ugh (my peanut allergy makes this a huge problem for me....doesn't affect anyone else tho).

Hey, here's a fun one to do also....Divide group into 4 or 5 teams. If it's a really big shower, just do 4 teams with 4 people. Give each team bottles w/ 6 ozs. Gatorade (one per person) and one bib. The ladies line up within their team and race the other teams. However....here's the funny part...The first baby in line must be fed and burped by the second person. (belching not required). Then 2nd baby removes bib, puts on self and third baby feeds ans burps 2nd.....when 4th baby gets up, 1st feeds and burps. This game was hysterical.

We played this at my sister's shower. I remember using hershey bar, snicker, milky way, twix, baby ruth. I think we had 8, but I can't remember the others.

WARNING----disposable diapers catch fire if in the microwave too long. :rolleyes1 Melt the chocolate on a plate, and then scoop it onto the diaper.

I have been to two baby showers that did it. At the first one, it was done right before we passed the diaper around. At the other (which was actually mine... I requested the game :teeth: ) my friend did it way earlier in the day so they were hardened. The only difference was really the smell... made it easier for me to guess when I could smell the ingredients. So yes, you can do it the day before and have it be okay IMO.
