I'm interested in January 5-10. Can anyone give me an idea of prices for moderates? I know I could call, but this is a surprise trip for my daughter for Christmas and she rarely misses anything I say on the phone.

How about suggestions for which moderate to choose. We stayed at Port Orleans a couple years ago and enjoyed it -- but isn't that closed now?

thanks!!

We have reservations for our honeymoon for January 20-26. We're staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Port Orleans French Quarter is closed for renovations right now, but Riverside is still open. We got our packages using the Winter Dream Maker through Dreams Unlimited. The first three nights we added on the Silver Package, and the last three nights we got the regular dream maker. The first three nights (with the silver add-on) cost about $1200. The second three nights (with the regular dream maker) cost about $775. Altogether, it averaged out to about $300 a night. But that includes our UPH tickets, and our wishes, which we're using for two dinner shows, two tours, and admission to the Cirque du Soleil.

January 1st-30th is considered value season at the moderates.

I currently have ressies for January 31st at POR (it is the French quarter that is currently closed). The rack rate is $133 (plus tax) per night for a standard view; if you are a AAA member the cost (including tax) is $118 per night.

Water/River/Preferred view rack rate for the moderates during this time period is $148.00 per night.

For more info on other times of the year, check out Mary Warings site at http://www.mousesavers.com/seasondates2004.html#moderate

Waiting for the AP room only rate. At that point we will decide whether or not we will upgrade to AKL or WL.

We stayed at CBR last August and loved it. I wanted to try something new this trip and have heard good things about POR.

Hey! tomorrow I get to do the double digit dance!!!

The Birnbaum guide lists the moderate room only rates as $133 - $148 during the value season, which I believe starts January 1st. Personally, my favorite resort is Port Orleans Riverside, but everyone has a different opinion.

We're going, but don't have our reservations made for our entire stay (it will be part cash, part DVC points). Waiting for Disney to offer some discounts.

I just booked last night for Jan. 1st -11th at PO-Riverside. I was told that standard rooms are all booked for that time frame, so we booked water view at $132/night including tax with the AAA discount.

I'm hoping for those AP rates to come out soon too! We had originally booked the WL with the AP rate when we had planned to check-in on Dec. 26th, but because of a change in plans we're not arriving now until the 1st and the AP rate won't be available. $199/night rack rate at the WL isn't in our budget for this trip, so unless those rates come out, looks like we'll be enjoying our first stay at Port Orleans!

I would recommend CBR. It is a great resort and very relaxing. I truly feel like I have escaped the world when I stay at CBR.
