Who Has Had Experience with Shipt for Grocery Delivery?

Hi Dis folks,

I have a trip booked for late July 2021, and we are staying in BLT. I have searched the threads and I have read the stickies about the various delivery services, but I'm needing a little more info on Shipt, because there wasn't a ton of info on the stickie threads. I currently use Shipt for grocery delivery to my home, so I understand how the process works. I figured since I already pay the monthly fee for Shipt, I might as well use their service at WDW as long as the service experience is good there. Here are my questions:

1. Overall, I'm wondering if folks have had good experiences with Shipt delivering to WDW resorts recently?
2. I live in the midwest and my Shipt shopper shops at Meijer; I'm thinking that choices for groceries, and in particular fresh produce and dairy, would be either Target/Publix/Winn Dixie? Any feedback on these places for basic breakfast/snack/alcohol to keep in the villa?
3. When I have Shipt make a delivery to my home, it's contactless and she leaves things on my front porch. How will delivery work at BLT? Can I meet them at the BLT lobby? Or, do I have to go to the main CR lobby?
4. What is the best way to get groceries back to the villa?

Thanks so much for your info!!

I used Shipt this last October. I got a few things from Target and the shopper was wonderful. She communicated well and when I met up with her out front, she said that she was a Disney cast member that had not been called back yet. I don't think that you would have an issue with them dropping off in front of BLT. I did not order very much and was able to just carry what I got back to my room. Maybe if you have more then you can carry, have them drop off in front of CR and ask bell service to help.

@Lilsia thank you so much for the info...this is really helpful! So glad you were able to support a CM! I wasn't sure how to specify BLT lobby vs CR lobby?

Did you feel like you were able to get all the things you needed from Target? I'm looking primarily for groceries, and since I don't have a Publix or a Winn Dixie in my neck of the woods, I wondered about where to get groceries and beer. I have a Target, but my local Target is small and doesn't have all the things I need for groceries.

Thanks so much!

I only ordered some bottled water and a few snacks so had no issues. You can put in the hotel's address and look around the stores to see what they offer without actually ordering anything.

This is a less recent experience, but DW, DD, and I went last March over Spring Break. We were actually very fortunate that our scheduled departure date was the Saturday before everything shut down, so we really didn't miss out on much, though we did opt to not go back to the parks after our midday break and change our dining reservation to one at the resort. But I digress...

We had not used Shipt before, but did for this trip. The main reason I even mentioned the above is to establish that it was right around the time that things were getting serious and people were starting to panic buy. I am about 99% certain that we ordered everything through Target and the only thing that we couldn't get was extra small hand sanitizers to put in our backpack. Otherwise, even then, we got fresh fruit, bottled water, diapers and wipes, etc. We did not order any alcohol, though, so we just had everything left with bell services and paid the fee (don't remember how much but worth it not to have to haul everything across CSR) and had everything delivered to our room.

Our delivery person was actually very good about communicating via text about a few things that were not available and possible substitutions, most of which were perfectly acceptable. All in all it was a good experience and I would definitely use Shipt again.

@Specter your post was so helpful! Your experience sounds like my usual experience with Shipt here at home. This is really good to know. Thank you!

Not, I just need to figure out which is best to get breakfast items, basic staples, snacks, and beer for hubby. I'm thinking between Target, Publix, and Winn Dixie. I have no frame of reference for Publix and Winn Dixie.
