who has floor steam mop and was it worth your money? Do you like it?

I have the Eureka Steam Mop

http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-313A-E...FBHG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297021092&sr=8-1

I basically put some distilled water (just by choice to avoid scale buildup) in it, plug it in, let it heat for 5 mins, then run it over my kitchen floor. It's really easy to use and the only place I notice any lasting wetness is the place where I let it stand to heat up since it gets a little build up there. Easy to take care of that place with a paper towel. Otherwise, the floor dries quickly.
Any spills or sticky spots come up pretty easily by letting the steamer work for a few seconds on that spot. I also like that the pads are washable.

The only place I can currently use it is in the kitchen and two small bathrooms since the rest of the place has carpet, but I'm hoping to move to hardwoods soon. Even so, with only having that little bit of floor to use it with, it was still well worth the money and I'd buy it again.

I bought the Eureka Enviro Steamer. It does a really good job, not too messy. The floor isn't any wetter than with regular mopping. The floors look great after using the steamer, but it doesn't really "clean" the grout.

Mine works by putting water in it, letting it get hot (wait for steam) and then start cleaning. There are no chemicals. It has cloth pads on the bottom that you wash and reuse. I would totally buy it again. Why? I like the fact that I'm not using chemicals. We have allergies and alot of the chemical smells really get my allergies going. We also have indoor pets so I don't have to worry about the chemicals and the cats. The pads are holding up very well. By the time I bought swifter pad refills, mops and floor cleaners, I figure within a few years the cost will average out.

If you decide to buy one, check out the cost on Amazon. Mine was cheaper at Amazon with free shipping than going to Walmart.

I have the Shark. I like it a lot, but I'd like to have the newer one that sweeps the floor at the same time. I have to sweep the dog hair and then steam. It dries really quickly though and MUCH easier than the old fashioned mops.

I have the shark as well. I really like it because I really feel like my floors are super clean by the time I'm done. I don't feel that way using the swiffer. The only drawback is having to refill the water reservoir every once in awhile if you're mopping a large area.

I have a Shark. Bought it this past summer and  it. It's so easy to mop the floors now and they are so much cleaner than they were when I mopped the old way.

One thing I don't like about the Shark model I have is the way you fill the water tank. My mom has a steam mop that she bought from QVC and it has a much better design.

If my Shark died, I'd definitely buy another steam mop, but I'd look for one with a better design for filling the tank. I'm not so sold on the combination vacuum/steam mop.

I have the shark steam mop, I got it at Costco when there was a coupon deal so the price was great. I use it in the kitchen, bathroom and dining room and it is really easy to use. Even though it says you can use it on wood floors, I done some research and read conflicting things, so I don't feel comfortable using it on the wood floors. Otherwise, I really like it and the fact that you don't need to use any chemical cleaning products with it.

I use my Shark on my hardwood floors with no problems. :)

I have the Eureka one and I love it, and its worth every penny.

Didn't love the Shark so I gave it to my Mom. I still had to clean the grout by hand.

My mom bought me a shark last year for Easter. I love it. I clean my kitchen, bathrooms and my living room (The living room has laminate hard wood). I would definitely get another one when this one goes.

I have the Haan. Spent around $90 and it came with 2 micro pads. I really like it alot. I use it on my original hardwood floors in my kitchen (house is 100yrs. old) and my kitchen transitions into my tile laundry. Works great on tile. It's very well made and feels sturdy. That being said, if I could make a change it would be the shape of the steam head. I would make it a little smaller, and maybe angular to get in the corners. However it works great for what I use it for, and I would definately buy it again.

I was with my girls looking for a Christmas present for Mom. My 6 yr old walked around the corner of the aisle we were in and started screaming for me...

"DAAAAAADDDD!!!!!! We HAVE to get this for Mom, it's the BEST!!!!"

It was a Shark steam mop. Turns out, she was addicted to the infomercial and watched it all the time, LOL.

So, we bought a Shark steam mop.

Go back a few months and we had an area rug in the middle of the hardwood floor in the living room. My wife had used double sided carpet tape a long time ago. She bought a new rug and it was smaller than the old one, so she pulled up the old rug and tape and adhesive residue was stuck all over the floor. Nothing we tried would get the residue off the hardwood. We tried everything from many floor and kitchen cleaners to GooGone and even WD40. Nothing would take it off.

Now fast forward back to Christmas. The steam mop was opened and I handed it to my 6 year old daughter and said, "It was your idea to buy this, you get to try it first."

She rubbed it around where the adhesive was stuck to the floor and everything came up with such ease. She got rid of all the adhesive no problem.

As others have said, the floors never felt so clean. We bought one for my mother for her birthday. She used a swiffer all the time, so she tested the steam mop. She used her swiffer to clean the kitchen floor just like she always does (she has major OCD on cleaning, so she really cleans when she does.) After the swiffer and the floor dried, she tried out the steam mop. The cloth of the steam mop was filthy after using it directly after the swiffer.

Yes they really work and really clean the floors.

I have the Bissel steam mop and I will never buy a regular mop again! Regular mopping is so much messier and not worth it to me! Mine is hot in less than a minute and I use distilled water and wash the mop pads and use them over and over. It works very easily where we have the vinyl floors in the kitchen and bathrooms. I use it on the laminate in the rest of the house, but we have to wipe it with an old towel afterward to wipe off excess water, but it is worth it to me! When it breaks down I will buy another steam mop without a doubt!

I use my Shark on my hardwood floors with no problems. :)

I bought a Shark and used it on my hardwoods once (darker color) and they looked kindof smeary. Maybe I need distilled water? We have city water & its not hard. Didn't really like it too much.

One of my coworkers always used in on the wood without problems too, but then I read that the steam could cause the floors to warp over time, since even though the floors is sealed, there would be tiny cracks in the poly from contracting and expanding and the steam could get through that. I then asked around for opinions, even calling the company that refinished my floors and everyone agreed that they would not use it on wood.

The one time I did use it, it looked smeary, but I find the swiffer does the same thing. The other day I cleaned them just using a slightly damp towel and I was amazed at how clean they looked! The guy from the floor company had said that is how he cleans his own wood floors.

I have 2000 sq ft of tile floors. The shark didn't cut it and I wanted something that could clean grout. I have a Whitewing now, about $700. I can clean for several hours without refilling and I can control both temperature and pressure. It has a bag of attachments including one for grout. We use this machine to clean windows, BBQ grills, etc. It was a great purchase.

My Shark is 3 yrs old now and still works great. I use it on my white tile kitchen floor and although it doesn't do the grout it gets the tiles really clean and shiny. I only do the grout by hand occasionally. The shark also works on my pergo (kids rooms and family room) and my sealed hardwood (living room and dining room). I am thinking it won't last much longer, but I've already gotten my money's worth. I will buy another, but not sure if I should try the vac/combo one.

I have a Shark Van-Then-Steam and I love it! I found it on-line for $116.00 and printed out the advertisement and took it to Kohl’s where I had a 30% coupon. I got it for $86.00! I think the vacuum part alone is worth what I paid!
