Who Has Done Online Check-In at Aulani

Trying to decide if I should use the online check-in option through dvcmember.com when its available for our trip to Aulani.

We used it one time at WDW but felt like our room requests were completely ignored when we used the online check-in option. All other times that we have checked in and not used the online system they were able to do a pretty good job of meeting our room requests.

I seem to remember reading another post where someone has said the same thing -- that room request was ignored when they used the online check-in option.

Anyone have an experience they can share? Unfortunately based on our flight time and travel time from airport we probably won't arrive at Aulani to check-in until after 5:00. So I'm concerned that we may be "left" with the less desirable room options. Wondering if the online check-in option would help prevent that or not.

Do you have a particular room in mind? We did on-line check in last year and it was fine. When we arrived they had "checked-in" but our room wasn't ready. We were given all the materials in the lobby and given a brief tour of the area.

We made our room requests when we called DVC to make our reservations. Then we did the online check in 10 days prior to our arrival date. We got exactly what we had requested and the actual check in was VERY smooth and VERY quick. They asked our name when we drove up and asked if we had done the online check in. A CM gave us a tour around the lobby. While we were talking, another CM brought us our check in packet. That was the smoothest check we have had at DVC resorts.

We did online checkin, too. I agree that if you have any requests, make them with Member Services ahead of time. I booked eleven months out but don't recall making any requests. At any rate, we were very happy with both online checkin and our villas.

Have fun. It's a great resort.

We made our requests with Member Services via telephone, and also did online check in. Our requests were honored. However, I will say that I didn't notice any advantage to doing online check in. There was no special line to wait in, and they didn't seem to have anything "ready" for us...it still took a while to check in. I guess I just didn't see the point of the online process.

Our experience was quite different. The CMs who greeted us with leis had our room keys. No need to go to the front desk at all. I will definitely do on line check in next time we go to Aulani.

You will be able to check in on the DVC site starting on Thursday.

I just went on to look at something on the site and noticed that it gave me the option to do my on-line check in, even though I'm not 10 days out yet. I went ahead and did it but it didn't give me any options to make any requests. I don't even know if it took the check-in. I thought it was very odd compared to how I did the online check-in for my trip last October. I'll keep you updated, I might call them during my lunch today to see. Thought it was odd. LOL That was suppose to be pixiedust - the poster, not the icon! LOL

Let us know what you find out about the online check-in. I am curious whether you are supposed to be able to put in room requests through the online check-in or not.

I placed my room request ahead of time through DVCmember.com. But I thought when you do online check-in you were also supposed to be able to put in room requests. I've heard others talk about that.

Anytime in the past that I've tried to place a room request through the online check-in, it doesn't work for me. There is a screen that appears that shows a box to type in room requests but whenever I have tried to type in it in the past, my cursor won't work.

I thought it was my web browser but I've tried them all: Firefox, IE, Chrome, Google. None of them ever work for me.

Anybody else had luck with typing in a room request when using online check-in through DVCmember.com?

When I did online checkin for Aulani three weeks ago or so, there was no way to write in a request. There was some way to indicate if you wanted a ground floor villa.

How I wish I was doing online checkin for Aulani right now! Have fun all of you headed there soon.

We did the on-line check in and could not have been happier! I did the on--line, then called member services to ask them to put a request for high floor. We were registered for ocean view.

It was Christmas week (12/20-12/27) and we had the most perfect room-top floor, with a great view.

We didn't check in until 730-8pm, and as we got out of our car at the valet, we were greeted with leis, our keys and the resort info. I've done the on-line check in a few times over our last few trips. Last few times were okay to good, this was great! Literally no wait, heck, we didn't really have to stop. We never saw the front desk the first 2 days we were there. It was smooth and flawless. It worked exactly like it was designed-but it didn't hurt that I was checking in at an off time-not too many check in that late.

I'll keep ya posted Pixie. I was shocked that I had the option already to on-line check. I'm not arriving until the 10th. But then it didn't seem like it did it completely. It was very odd.

I was finally able to get the website to work properly and did my online check-in for arrival on Feb 10. It had a spot for Room Requests and said I could put up to 2 requests on but the only option was Ground Floor and I no option to change that. So I'm getting ready to call them to put my requests in.

Seems odd that member services does not let us put in anything other than ground floor. I wonder if there is something wrong with the webpage or is that really the only option that they want to give us.

I've brought up to MS a couple times in the past that I had problems with their room request website box option and they have always told me they would pass the information on to their technical staff but doesn't seem like it ever gets any attention.
