Who has a man cave or media room at there house? Anyone willing to share any pictures?

I have a couple of photos, but not sure if I like the end result. Let me know your thoughts? Looking for new ideas/suggestions.

Here is what I did:

Don't mind the wires, I'm still working on it. But before I do anymore, I want to see if I like it.

Not a true Man cave, but DS20 has converted a fourth of the 2 car garage into "my new office." He helped me move the treadmill out to the garage to make more room for Christmas decor. Now, it is set up for use. He mounted several computer monitors (received over the years), his computer and the xbox along with a desk.

He can now play xbox games and run/walk on the treadmill. He also has his new BB gun so there is the shooting gallery.

Today we got some boxing equipment so that is set up. No heat in that garage, but it is now the best place to hang out. My car also fits in the other side of the garage.

I only see one picture of the televisions. The windows on each side I would suggest investing into roman shades with a blackout liner. I purchased roman shades for my kids room that face the front of our house and you can not tell the light is on at all from the outside. It blocks out the heat / cold as well. You can keep the blinds on the window and hang the shade over the window frame near the ceiling then you can pull them up/down as desired. The light coming in those windows would bother my eyes if I am trying to watch tv during the day.

I found decent priced roman shades at blinds.com and check out blindsgalore.com as well. I paid extra for the blackout lining on ours. Here is a picture of plain black I found online (not mine). You can see the blinds are mounted on the inside of the window frame and they hung the roman shade above the window. I would extend it past the wood frame on the sides as well on your windows just to ensure the sun doesn't peek in.

I like the sign on your mantel! It is true in our house too!

DH has a man cave in the basement and DS16 has a mini-man cave in our spare bedroom.

I think it looks great, but like PP said I'd put up darkening shades.

DH has a "man cave" where he plays his video games. But it's also our theater room so I use it too. It's really hard to take a pic of the room since it's so dark. Ours is in a basement. It has white trim and white 6-panel double doors going into the room. Carpeting is a darker grey. Wall that the TV (65" LED) is dark grey other three walls are lighter grey. There is a black stripe going around the entire room about half way up the wall. The ceiling is black. Furniture is black. There are sconces on the wall that are on a dim switch and that's what we usually use on low when watching movies. But he also has can lights in the ceiling for brighter if need be.

Totally agree about the windows. Too bright.

IMHO the TV is way too high.

I agree about the windows.

And I don't see how watching the TV can be comfortable having it that high. If you need to have the other equipment on the wall like that, lower the TV and put them above it.

My DH built a home theater about 7 years ago. We love it! THese pictures are right after we finished the room. I can take more current pics if anyone wants to see.

Screen is approx. 180 inches
Projector is a Sony Pearl
2 Rows of 3 recliners (last row is raised)
7.1 channel Polk Audio System
15 inch sub woofer

I do have blinds on the window, I just had them open for the daylight as I was installing the TV's.

I lowered the bottom row of TV's about 4 inches and will lower the top tv about 5 inches tomorrow. I have to get a couple of 90 degree coax adapters, so will do all the wiring work after work tomorrow.

The top TV will now be at the top of the window and not the top of the trim.

My wife isn't crazy about the height of the top TV either, but I want to give it a few days to see how I like it. I really like the idea of the look, just not sure if I like the practically of it?

I have a question what types of things do you guys like in your man caves? Looking for ideas.

Those pictures of your theater room look sweet.

Love hearing everyone's input. Like I said earlier, I'm just not sure about it and like hearing others opinions.

Here is when I was loving it. 3 NFL games on and all 3 with playoff implications:

We have a half finished home theater. Just had shelving installed on the wall to hold the projector. A screen of reflective fabric is on the opposite wall and framing bought, but it isn't framed yet. The room is functional but ugly at this point. Seating is 2 recliners and 2 video rockers. We put blackout curtains up to help keep it dark enough, though it's surprising how good the picture is even in daylight.

From what my Neighbors & Friends have told me, I have a ultimate Man Cave:confused3

It is my garage, ok might not sound that great but let me detail:confused3, it is detached from the house 35ft, 1 car with a 12 x 12 room that is the fully stocked bar area, hardwood floors, with bathroom, closet, fridge, tv with cable:woohoo:, but it is what is the other side of the door that goes to the garage that makes it ultimate it contains 2 cars in a 1 car garage:confused3, yes a parking lift is involved :thumbsup2, the 2 cars are a 1972 Mustang Mach 1 with a 351 Cobra Jet w full ram air, Yellow w Black stripes & a 1973 Mustang Conv, Candy apple red with silver stripes, the garage also has heat, every 6ft a electrical outlet 4ft high so you don't trip over the wire, also 1 220 outlet for the 7hp 60gal Air compressor :thumbsup2

Now the fun part both cars are show condition, between the garage, bar area and house you will find over 200 trophies (some racing, most for show), I love it when someone who has what they think is a bad import :lmao::rotfl2:, comes over and then sees the cars and trophies, they somehow forget about talking how bad there import is:rotfl:, I had 1 dad tell his son in front of a whole party he didn't want to hear how bad his Honda was until he had 1 more trophy then I had:rotfl2: But on the plus side he is now into the classic's and bought a 69 Camaro that is a Father & Son project:goodvibes

We HAD a game room, but then we moved. It's going to take some time to convert our new basement to our needs. It's not wired for anything, yet.

My dh has a man cave. Everyone calls it his Leafs room (from Canada - he's a huge Toronto ML fan!). Along with the 3d tv and surround sound and recliners, he's got tons of ML stuff on the walls. Not sure if you're a sports guy, but you can adorn your walls with sports stuff.

My friend's dh's man cave has lots of old movie posters, etc. in his. Old reel projector, etc. Movie memorabilia theme.

My DH would be in heaven! He drives me crazy flipping around to different channels during commercials or halftime. I love your sign!

We have a kid cave but no man cave! :lmao: The basement is pretty much a kid domain. The kids are old enough that I would like to have a better TV set up in the basement but DH is not on board yet. We have a cheap TV down there from when they were little. I want to upgrade to a BIG one for movies & DS would love it for video games. I just have to get DH to agree.

So what else are you going to do to your man cave?

I have a framed Wrigley Field picture up on one wall and was looking at more items last night. I have a feeling it will just be a slow process to fill the walls with memorabilia. So for now I just have the one Wrigley Field picture and pictures of my wife and kids.
