I am reading up online about this card, but I do not see anywhere that says you get any kind of percentage of your purchases back...

What are the Disney rewards? And what is the difference between the Debit card and the Credit card? They both have the VISA logo on them.

Also, it says you get 10% off at Disney Store. Does this include stores at the parks??
Thanks for any input....

rewards are 1% of spending. The debit card has an annual fee. Don't know for sure about the discount, you've always been able to get it at world of disney but don't know about other stores.

If the link is still active you can get a $100 giftcard by applying at disneyworld100gift.com

Q: I am reading up online about this card, but I do not see anywhere that says you get any kind of percentage of your purchases back...
A: The credit card is 1% back (one rewards dollar for every $100 in credit card purchases). The debit card is 0.5% (one rewards dollar for every $200 in debit purchases).

Q:What are the Disney rewards? And what is the difference between the Debit card and the Credit card? They both have the VISA logo on them.
A: The rewards are "Disney Dream Dollars". They are valued at one American dollar each and can be used for purchases made at Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruiseline and Disney Stores.

The Disney VISA Credit Card is a revolving charge account. You make your purchases based on the premise that you will repay the purchase amount in full by the statement due date or the credit card issuer adds interest to the principle balance. It has no annual fee but you must apply for it and be approved in order to receive one.

The Disney VISA Debit Card is attached to a checking account. You are limited to the amount in the checking account for any purchases. The amount of your purchases made with the card is deducted from your checking account almost immediately to pay for the purchases. The annual fee is $25 and you must open a checking account with Chase in order to have one.

Q;Also, it says you get 10% off at Disney Store. Does this include stores at the parks??
A: Some locations but not all. There was a post recently that listed the current participating locations. I'll see if I can find it.

ETA: I found it on Disney's website:

DH & I have a Disney Rewards Visa that we have started using. So far we have enough points for a nice fancy dinner out during the next trip. The points are 1% on purchases. I have had the card for years and didn't start using it until recently. In the past I always showed it at the World of Disney at the Marketplace when I buy all my souviners and gifts - they would give me 10% off the purchase price and it was great!

They also offer discounted prices on behind the scenes tours, free stoller rental at the parks, a free Photopass photo at certain character greetings, discounted room rates at select resorts, as well as free collector pins. They change the special offers so you may finds something you like around the time of your next trip.

You can view where to redeem points at: http://disneyrewards.disney.go.com/credit/rewards/redemptionlocationsdisney.html

I have also heard that some people redeem the Dream Dollars and then buy gift cards with them so that they never expire. I have not tried this myself.

I have a disney visa and a chase visa. I don't use the disney visa anymore except for when I am in epcot between 1 and 4 you can get a free 5x7 picture free. I would rather get cash back to buy whatever I want with my chase card then to have to use my cash back only with disney with the disney card.

We have been using ours for about four years now.

Each year we earn around $500 in rewards, and I put it towards our Sep stay for the year.

This year I began using our AMEX for certain things because I get 2-3% rewards on those, which beats the Disney Visa's 1%.

But if it doesn't fall into one of those higher categories, it goes on the Disney Visa.

We buy EVERYTHING on it and pay it off each month.

I love it, and, knock on wood, we have only had interest increases from them which doesn't affect us because we pay it off each month.

But, if they start what is rumored, and begin charging an annual fee for people like us, I will definitely re-think using it.
