We just reserved our flight times with Frontier Airlines, and unfortunately, our flight doesn't leave MCO until 6:05 pm for our return home. DH won't do the parks (even with the Food and Wine fest!!!) so we are looking at a day room. We were in the same boat in 2002, and we got one at the Hyatt....but does anyone know if you can get a dayroom at any other surrounding hotel? Anyone know the current dayroom rates for the Hyatt or any surrounding place?

The current Hyatt day room is $60.00 *I know because I have one booked for May 8th* if that helps. Our flight isn't until 5 pm so we booked one. The regular hotel rate for the night I was quoted $75.00 so I switched because I have a fear that our flight is way oversold and we may volunteer to be bumped for the vouchers. For 15 dollars it was worth it to me to have it for the whole day and night.

You got the Hyatt at MCO for $75 a night? That is a great rate! Most people say they get quotes for over $100 a night. Did you have a special or discount?

DJ

No discount just called the hyatt mco direct and they gave me a rate of $75.00 for the "night" but said I can check in at 10 am on Saturday when I am due to return home. I figured it was a GREAT rate as the website quoted me $125.00 for the night. I couldn't believe it but I jumped on it AND have checked it on their website several times since I booked and it always says $75.00. Some people on our sailing DID get a day rate of $60.00 and I could have had it too but I figured if I could get the vouchers I'd rather pay the extra $15.00 and have the Hyatt for the night. The flight is sold out yet I can still purchase a seat on Delta.com for that flight..I figure I'll volunteer! LOL

We have two day rooms booked for October and we are paying $75.00 a room.

We just did the day stay at the Hyatt this past Thursday. We were some of the last ones off the Wonder and still got to the airport by 10:35. It was so worth the money since our flight was not leaving until 7:30pm. It gave us a place to keep our bags (Air Tran would not take our luggage until 4pm), we had a comfy bed and chairs, a lovely balcony with sunshine, tv for the little one, room service for lunch and a nice, warm swimming pool. It seemed to extend our vacation even more and we are planning on doing it again when we sail in January.

You could also book a room via Pricaline at an MCO area hotel. You should be able to get one for around $28 at thehighest star level, which would be near restaurants, have a pool, and a free shuttle back to the airport.

I had thought about doing the priceline thing, but I am worried about check in time for what ever hotel we will end up with....I'd image we'd arrive at MCO by 10 or so (we are using Happy Limo) but I was also figuring that unless we get a "dayroom" that most hotel check in times are at 3:00...

I'll do some additional web research to see what I can find, too!

I was forced to get a day room on Saturday April 24th, because my son was denied access to the plane due to food poisioning.

The best offer was $79, and they made out on the deal, becuase he felt better after 4 hours, then we were on the next plane out of there.

Nice hotel, but my bed had dirty sheets on it, I was not happy about it!

We booked a Hyatt "Day Room" for May 15th. When I booked, she said it was 60.00. It does look like it's gone up since to 75.00.

Heidi You got a good rate because when I called to inquire over night stay, it was a lot more than 75.00.

dreamin- we did get a good rate and I don't exactly know how I got it. I asked for the day rate and he told me for $15.00 more I could have the room for 24 hours from 10 am to 10 am so I jumped on it. With the way our luck goes with airlines and schedules I won't be surprised if our flight cancels, takes a mechanical or we get tossed off for some reason so I figured MAYBE if I planned for it this time we'd come home on time since usually it happens when we haven't planned or don't have the time for it to happen!!

I guess in 12 days I'll find out! LOL

hydster - Have you been drinking too much of that gin again. LOL - I'm glad you were able to get such a good rate. I wonder what your luck is lately. Upgrade on your cabin, now a reduced rate at Hyatt. Good things come in three's - Do you play the lotto??? LOL - Mike

Mike..I don't know what the deal is with it but this is the confirmation I got from Hyatt and also what shows on their website...maybe I'm reading it wrong

(I *** out my personal information) but am I reading this wrong?? Check in 5-8 and check out 5-9 for $75.00 right????

But yeah maybe if good things come in 3's we'll all get upgraded to first class on the flight as well! LOL

Heidi

Hydster - I'd rather you win the lotto instead of getting upgraded airline tickets. Looks like 75 to me from what you posted. Wish I could have got mine for that Ours is for May 7th and we booked it back in September - @ $125. - Enjoy your cruise - Mike

Mike--I'd rather I win the lotto as well BUT there isn't one in Utah. So instead I'll take first class upgrades on the flight! LOL

I called the Hyatt MCO Direct and talked to a reservations manager. Apparently there was an input error and I was charged the day rate charge but put in as an overnight guest so she assured me that if needed they would honor the rate for 24 hours but that it was supposed to be input as a day rate but was not. Anyway that's what happened...a mistake by the original reservation agent but they will stand by the $75.00 if I can't check out until Sunday.:sunny: maybe you should call up and ask for the same guy who input my rate! LOL

Heidi

Hydster - I thought it was a mistake, but a lucky mistake for you. You can always send me some money here for Lotto and I will buy your tickests for you. LOL - Mike

Hmmm Mike don't tempt me...I may just send you some to put on lotto for me! The drive to Idaho is too long!

Heidi

So are you allowed 3 kids in a room with 2 adults? We have friends coming and we are flying and staying at the Hyatt. They are driving in a van (5 adults 2 kids). I wouldn't mind if their daughter flew with us and stayed in our room and went to port with us, but I didn't know you could have 3 kids in a room.

They didn't care?

Thanks,
DJ

Heidi -

I just called about their day rates and was told that only four per room (and this includes kids!!) for the day rate!

So you did make out :-)
