My understanding from a couple months ago posts was that the music CD was sent with Castaway Club cards after you return from first DCL cruise...

This was the case with us; shortly after our first Disney cruise 6 months ago, we got the mailing that looked like a travel trunk with our Castaway Club cards in it and a tropical music CD. I assumed it was sent out to us in order to give us our new CC cards.

The coconut mailer sounds cool too though! :sunny:

Punting to the outside marketing company is a cop out. No one gets p.o.'d at a marketing company, they get upset w/ Disney. Ultimately, Disney hired a marketing company to do some marketing, and some people randomly did not receive something and now they know all about it.

But we did get the souffle recipe, and now really ready to order one at Palos in 4 weeks and 2 days (measuring to our first choice date of Palo's dining reservation).

We got the coconut. Its pretty cool. We will have to have to try to make the recipe our selfves. Wont be as good though.

Matt

We got it too!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :cheer2: My mom thought she was special until I told her everyone got one. lol. :rotfl:

We received our coconut on Friday. Do you think it was geared to people who have another cruise coming up? That was my impression from reading it. !

Well, I took a DCL cruise in May of last year and one in December of last year and I've got one coming up in May, and one in November of this year and then three in '06. Did I get one? Nope. Have I ever gotten anything for the Castaway Club except a number that my TA had to call them for ?.... Nope. Pout is right!

Could it be that the coconuts were sent only to past cruisers who have visited Palo? We've had four cruises, but haven't been to Palo yet. But either way, I wouldn't be able to eat the chocolate souffle :headache: (I get horrible migraine headaches from anything chocolate).

Beth

I don't think so because I have been to Palo several times, both brunch and dinner.

We have cruised 3 times never dined at Palo's...but I came on to offer my coconut to the highest bidder ( just kidding)-our coconut looks fine, but the postal service torn the outter packing quite a bit-really if some one wants it let me know!

We just got the coconut mailer today! My DS is going to make the souffle for me (so he says). It is a cute piece. I was hoping it would have some kind of special offer, but a recipe is fun..

I got one on Sat. odd though last name correct but first name way off(William)no only a Dean or Melinda here. But to shed some light i took a solo cruise in Dec. so maybe thats how i got it as i've never gotten one before(3rd disney cruise). Hey try this on for size Dean got a thank you note for rebooking when i returned duhhh... hello Solo just me. Mickey should be thanking me DH made me promise to be good and not buy jewelry in Nassau didn't say anything about rebooking bet he wishes now i'd gone shopping. I'm sooo bad.... at least this time i'm taking him with me.

Well, I guess we will have to collectively let DCL that WE are not amused, nor convinced with their cop-out that a "marketing company" has been put in charge of keeping CC members happy and informed.

I think they (DCL) needs to know that their tactics offend many potential return cruisers.

We gots ours last week. We have only cruised once with Disney (a 3 night back in June) and don't have another one booked. We didn't even eat at Palo's. I thought it was a cute idea and would love to try to souffle. It made me wish that our cruise this summer was going to be on Disney and not Carnival.

BTW- we never received our CC cards or a music CD...would have loved to have had one though!

Hi Marilee, sorry that you didn't get the coconut. I didn't either. Perhaps they didn't mail them out for the 3/20/04 cruisers? Who knows how they pick their demographic :confused3

Wish I was on their mailing list, the goodies sound fun. I did get my CC number cards in the mail but they didn't come with anything.

Anybody want my coconut? When it came in the mail, I already knew what it was thanks to the boards, so at least I didn't have to go through the "I hope it is a discount...no just a recipe" let down! Plus, I have had the souffle recipe from the Disney magazine and I am yet to make it...after two years or so!

But seriously, those of you who have not gotten it, you are not missing anything. I personally don't think it is something to get upset about...with the THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of past cruisers, it would be impossible to send one to everyone. (The price of DCL would go up even more!) It is a glorified piece of junk mail that has a DCL logo on it. Now, we'd have to talk if it had a discount code on it, but hey, it's DCL....like that would ever happen!!! ;)

We also got our "coconut" in the mail a few weeks ago. I don't think that it has anything to do with wether or not you've been to Palo, because we didn't on our cruise. (Even though I'm hoping to on our next.)
We also got the thing with the CD that had the screensaver on it, and it did come with our Castaway cards, so maybe that was the reason for it.

I really do not give a hoot nor a hogjowl about the coconut...but I sure would like that tropical music cd that they supposedly sent to Castaway Club members...rumor has it that it has the DCL ship horn on it too...

Yes, it sure does have the horn on there!...And some really beautiful pictures to boot!

If anyone wants a CC screen saver, you can go to DIS home...then to photos link and they have a CC screen saver link on there...I have it on my computer..its great!

Maybe someone will put one of the cd's on E bay?..hint hint...
