Well lets give it up for DCL!!!!!!! Marketing They came out with a fantastic marketing mailing that they sent out to past guests.

In the mail past guests received a travel trunk like mailer that when you open
it, it has a coconut pop up ( even scratch and sniff ) (they said to make you feel like the islands) that has the Palo's Choc. Souffle recipe inside.......

Great Marketing Idea!!!! Double Thumbs Up!!!!!

We share your pain....although we have not sailed 13 times, we have never recieved anything in the mail from DCL either. Wonder why not?

I think we should NOT "give it up for" DCL marketing.......they evidently do not play fair. It is just plain foolish for them to send out to some past cruisers and not to others. There are forums such a this where people DO compare notes, and it leaves a very bad taste in the mouths of those left out. What genius at DCL gets to decide who is "worthy" of special offers and promotions?

We received our coconut on Friday. Do you think it was geared to people who have another cruise coming up? That was my impression from reading it. It was cool. Hey, how did you souffles turnout?? I was drooling just reading the recipe!

I have no idea how or what constitutes receiving any of their promotions, but having seen MJ with 13 sailings, that just does not seem right....

I think in the last year a music CD and computer screensavers has also been sent to CC members, which we also never recieved. Did you get this mmouse37? Not sure how these selections are made.

I have the 14 day repo cruise booked....!! And I was on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic for its first offical passenger sailing back in '98!!!

I think I will drop them a line and inquire...after the thousands I have spent...I want my coconut!!! I really am not bitter...just don't understand how they work things!!!

Ok friends....I just got off the phone the Castaway Club and inquired why some get the mailings and some don't. The CM was very nice and explained that it is just a random mailing and done by an outside marketing company. DCL themselves does not do the mailing. She did not know what the criteria was for the current mailing or even what the mailing looked like...I told her and she was impressed. She did offer to look into putting my name on the Marketing List, but was not sure how to do it. So, who knows...maybe in the future I will receive a mailing!!!

My understanding from a couple months ago posts was that the music CD was sent with Castaway Club cards after you return from first DCL cruise...problem is I never received those cards after our cruise in 1999...so I called DCL a couple months ago..said I never received cards...CM assured me she would send out cards with a music CD...course that has been a couple months ago now and still no cards or CD...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
