Who goes crazy during the last week of their countdown?

Thanks for the love and support DIS!!! Glad I'm not alone. Now I'm seeing threads going crazy about the weather next week. Everything I check shows typical Florida weather. Isolated thunder storms. When is that NOT in the Orlando forecast?

We've got 5 more weeks until our trip and I'm already going crazy! Keep looking over my schedule, reading threads on here, I should be working!! :rotfl:

I used be the same way, counting down days and all. I then remembered something my Dad once told me:

"never wish your time away becuase you never know how much you have left"

My Dad was a wise man:)

When I was younger I used to always say "I can't wait for vacation", then in middle of August "I can't wait for school to start" (ok, I'm weird)! My dad used to say, don't wish the time away, because when you get older it will fly by. Talk about wise...I just turned 50 and still feel like I should be 30. One Christmas just seems to blend into the next one, as do the Disney trips.

As for counting down, we have 5 days to go. Trying to relax, but can't keep away from the boards. We normally go for 5 nights, but I extended it to 9 for this trip. I told DH I wanted to be there so that by the 7th day I'd start longing a little bit for home. He said "Why don't we just go for 7 days then?". I was like, you don't get it, I want to be there on the 7th day and know I still have 3 left, even if I've done everything 3 times!!

Was going to wait til we get back to plan the next trip, but couldn't wait to start. Making lists and preparing is half the fun. I told DH last night that once I got there I was going to soak up every single minute to make it last as long as possible, but I know it will still fly by!:goodvibes

I love the Dis!

I'm so excited, nervous, anxious, and worried over our upcoming trip-no one else gets it. Except of course you guys :rotfl:

DH and DS their parts are easy-DH pays(ok not so easy ;)), DS waits. But me-I've got the planning to do, the lists, the shopping, the laundry, the packing, the pet sitter, the travel arrangements, the ADRs, which parks on which days, and for this trip we have added our 2 grandkids :faint:

And I love it ALL!! :rotfl:

I love the anticipation of the trip and still I want it to hurry up and get here.

Just remember everyone to try and live in the moments you have while you are there-it makes it worth all of the waiting and planning :goodvibes

Now I am officially about to lose it. I have been assigning myself something to buy/do every morning to keep myself busy. I think I have run out of things we need. What will I do?!!!

I think I will go around the house looking for pre 1982 pennies or something. I honestly think I am done with most of my shopping. All I need is beer and water and I will get that a few days before we go.

I have quarters for the laundry, detergent, money for mousekeeping, costumes for the kids, autograph books...oh!! I just realized I need fat pens for the autographs!! I have something to do TODAY!! :cheer2:

I am so crazy that I have been known to stay up passed midnight to see my countdown clock say Welcome Home....it is a little nuts....LOL Enjoy it...you are not alone.

We leave two weeks from today. I can't focus on anything but Disney World! It's like I have Disney related ADD.

I can't stand it anymore!!! I know I'm just whining, but these last few days seem to be lasting forever! 10 glorious days in WDW is consuming my every thought and I just want it to begin. The problem is, once it begins it's that much closer to ending! The great part of the trip ending is planning the next trip!

enjoy the craziness! it's all part of the experience.

i am going crazy and we don't even know when we will get to go back (currently unemployed). we lived in SoCal for a yr and had DL ap's and still wasn't enough to satisfy our Disney addiction.

I wish I had your problem...we returned from Disney on the weekend and I feel completely lost with nothing to fuss over anymore. I removed my countdown timer yesterday...aye, what a painful thing to do.
Don't pack to far out, I left that to the last couple of days, and it helped to keep my busy leading up 'til the big day. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

We packed last weekend. Just a few prescriptions to pick up this weekend. DS5 is doing a countdown dance every morning! And he's doing a second countdown dance every morning for his birthday party on Saturday before we leave! We're dancing a lot in our house right now!!!

Good MORNING, short-timers!!!:goodvibes

Here I am.....at work.....not doing a THING productive (as I promised I wouldn't yesterday!)......just killing time!:upsidedow

Oh, yes. We leave in six days and check into AKL in seven days (driving overnight!). This trip was timed to come at the end of an ABSOLUTELY BANANAS several months at work, and the anticipation/relief is killing me! That would, of course, defeat the purpose of the vacation, though, so I think I'll have to figure out a way to survive the pre-trip antsiness. DH is right there with me. We may be more excited than DDs.

XO

Ok, at moments I feel like the rest of you and other moments I am totally depressed because it is almost time for the trip!!!:confused3:confused3
How crazy is that ?? I just know that the sooner it comes, the sooner it'll be over and I'll have nothing to look forward to and nothing to plan.... Anyone else get it ??

I am trying to focus on being in the moment... not in my nature, tho. I'm a planning geek ! 32 t-shirts and 3 pillowcases later, I have nothing left to iron !:rotfl::rotfl:

SIGH. Must-KEEP-BUSY!

And now that the Montreal Canadians have won the hockey, I'll have nothing to watch until it starts up again !!! :scared1:
Deep breath, deep breath !

:wave2: me too. And wasn't it just yesterday I was saying I shouldn't be like this till next week?

Can't stop day dreaming!
DISing every day!
Packing already. (DH is :rotfl2: at my childlike excitement. But he always reminds us to take a link off of the countdown chain!)
I'M DYING HERE!!! CAN'T WAIT ANY MORE!!!!!

And to top it off, I'm trying really hard NOT to annoy everyone by talking about it toooo much. Failing miserably I'm sure!

15 more days

11 more work/school days

363 Hours until we are On The Road Again!!!

I entered single-digitness today!!!

Someone PLEASE tell my husband that there are more people out there that are crazy like me for Disney!

I am scrubbing my house:laundy: this week from top to bottom so my Disney high won't be ruined by coming home to a gunky house. Sadly, between that and packing, it will take the entire nine days left to finish. At least I will be busy!

WalkDMC, I LOVE your screen name!

DS and I leave in 9 days and I can hardly wait! PP, I too am cleaning from top to bottom so I don't have to come home to a messy house! Of course I probably will... DH and DD(15 months) aren't coming on this trip, so who know what my house will look like when I return! Guess I am cleaning just to rush the time by! My mom always said 'don't wish your life away", but it's ok to wish for time to go by when you are going to DISNEY!!!!!

17 days left for us and we are both going crazy! It is weird because we have so much going on that time should fly but it seems to be slowing down. Each day feels forever- probably because we have SO much to look forward to.
1) DH is graduating on Friday from his MLA (Master's in Landscape Architecture) program
2) I am a middle school teacher and school is out in 11 more (school) days- so the kids are absolutely nuts!
3) We are heading to Phoenix to drop the dogs off at MIL's day after school is out
4)Heading to WDW the next day!
5) 9 days in WDW then fly into Austin, TX for 4 days
6) Attend job fair in Austin, TX
7) Fly back to Phoenix and pick up dogs
8) Drive home (6 hours)
9) Finish packing house (hopefully very little left at this point)
10) Move to Austin, TX 2 days after returning!

Crazy, crazy but way excited for everything! We have been wanting to move from where we are currently living since we got here 3 years ago and it is finally time! So much to do but can't wait to do it all  Already talking about planning a trip this fall- if I can't find a job teaching- making it really hard to keep filling out those applications :goodvibes
