PD, would you believe that I've never been to a Red Lobster?

I dont' really like seafood but I'd like to go to Red Lobster just once and see what it is like in there. Mind you there is not one within an hour drive of us, so we are not likely to just drop in unless we are travelling somewhere.

Tonight we had dinner at my mom's. It was great because I did not have to cook it ;)

PD - I love fingerling potatoes, too. The pancetta & garlic really made them tasty.

Tomorrow starts the countdown for cooking for the wedding (making the perishables). I'm making bacon, chive, pecan mini cheeseballs and truffles tomorrow.

Off to do the dishes!

Ann~ I keep meaning to ask you how the baking part of cooking is effected by changes in the weather. I started wondering if your cakes were breaking because of a difference that needed to be made with the rainy weather that you were having in Florida.:confused3

The food at Red Lobster is very good. DO you like chicken? They do have chicken dishes too!
 
Yes I do like chicken and also steak.

Fish and seafood of any kind just doesn't do it for me though.

Dad is taking his injury ok, even agreed to scoot up and down the stairs on his tush. We have two pair of crutches now and are keeping one pair up and one down.

You know, I never gave it a second thought. The weather has been SO hot it may have affected it.....the 12" layer that I broke was my fault, I handled it wrong when I flipped the layer. I'll be more careful next time!

I've had a busy day today - here's what I made:
  • 10 dozen Oreo Truffles
  • About the same amount in bacon, chive, pecan bite-sized cheeseballs
  • And I have fresh mozzarella marinating in oil, sundried tomatoes, garlic, parseley & salt. (They'll be serve with tomatoes and a champagne mustard vinegarette on japanese spoons).

Tomorrow is:
  • Spinach, onion, parmesan & pinenut tarts in a delicious, flaky savory shortbread crust
  • Chicken, Parmesan & artichoke cheese ball
  • A goat cheese napoleon made with goat cheese, cream cheese & herbs. In between each layer is pesto and sun dried tomatoes.

So...I hope ya'll have a GREAT day - I'll be busy!

Kim - everyone has the things they enjoy.....your busy schedule puts me to shame over and over.....I have to have my naps! If you google "Japanese Soup Spoon" you'll be able to see pics (ebay pops right up). They sit flat and are big enough to hold a bite sized appetizer that can't hold it's shape or you don't want to put on a toast or cracker. I promise - it's not a menu - it's a party!

I've not thought of opening a restaurant - I have had friends ask me to go into the catering/wedding business, but I really don't want to. It really is just a hobby and I don't want to lose the fun of it. Plus, DH & I hope to do more traveling next year....

Robin - I hope the guys enjoy their new machinery! Give Rick our best! I wouldn't get tired of seeing the food....I'm all about food!
