Hi TWB! Any job or school luck? I remember you talking about Pac Sun. Is that where you worked or were we just talking about a gift certificate? We still have a PacSUn in our Mall and my girls love it....well they love the clearance rack! They have some really cute clothes and bags!

We have a get together at NSalz's house Friday night. My AUnt is in town from Raleigh, NC. We haven't seen her in years and she is definitely a favorite They lived here forever and then when my cousins were in HS my uncle got transferred to NC with IBM. (I'm talking 30-35 years ago now.) Though we always stay in touch, we rarely see each other, so I am very excited about that. We were planning to go to the West Point football game on Saturday, but waited to see what the weather would be like before buying tickets...nothing like a cold rainy football day It is supposed to be a nice day, so I was going to get tickets, but none of the DDs want to go! WOn;t they be surprised when we stay home and they spend Saturday cleaning theie rooms! Sunday DD(16) has a marching band competition and Monday DD(14) gets here cast off.

DD(12) has been home from school, sick since Monday, high fever etc. The poor thing has been mioserable. Yesterday, as it was cold out, and I was stuck at home, I cooked. I made Pasta Fagioli and Roast Chicken for DInner and then, after dinner, I made homemade chicken soup. Hopefully the chicken soup will work it's magic and cure my baby!

I've been depending on the debate to choose who I am voting for this election....after 2 debates, I still don't like either candidate! Neither seems to have anything valuable to say! Very scary to vote for either of them.

Kim~ If I were you I wouldn't plan anything but relaxation for the added day. When my kids were the age of your DD and DN they just wanted to shop and play in the pool! I remember going to WDW and they kept asking if we could go to the shops at DTD and to the resort pool. I remember my DH and I saying we could have stayed at the Holiday Inn, about a mile from our house, and gone to the mall everyday and the girls would have been happy! At most maybe do something in the morning and then hang out at the pool inhe afternoon.

The (new) school thing went bust...

apparently, I cannot use both the tuition waiver and a tuition grant. It took three weeks and 4 people for somebody to listen to what I've been saying all along Me (to all four people) "I went to school on the waiver and am now looking to go to a tech school on the grant." --- The last guy "Oh, you used the waiver? You can't use the grant too." --- Me --- I can however go back to the junior college I was attending. I have 17 more credits available to me under the waiver I used a year ago.

So, either way, I am going back to college in the spring....and still looknig for someone to hire me in the meantime. I don't know if it's my age or if there are really that many more people out there more qualified than me but looknig for a job is finally starting to get to me. My last resort is going to be getting a mall job. Except for the skatepark, it's been a good 18 - 20 years since I've had to work at the mall.

PD, I am so frustrated with the economy and the politicians spinning their spiel I keep threatening to vote for Nader in the upcoming election. Either that or giving Mr Mickey Mouse another write in at the polls.

How was everyones day?....
Mine was good...Even though it was a little chilly, it was quite nice outside...
and I spent a little time getting wood for the fireplace...

also while I was waiting for my laundry
I found a very very nice house for rent in Hana, that is almost the same price as the condo I was looking into but double the space, AND its all by itself up on a hill at the edge of the rainforest with great views of the ocean... So I called to see if its availible for my dates and it is!
Now I just have to decide if I want to stay in Hana for 3 nights or 4...It'll cost... less then the room we will have on the west coast, so we would save a bit of money if we stay 4....and then only 5 instead of 6 at the other..

Growing up with Grandmothers, Mom, sisters.....I always knew...NO MATTER WHAT ELSE, (even as a toddler) ONE MUST ALWAYS HAVE CAKE IN THE HOUSE! It's a LIFESAVER!

I posted on your thread. I am also considering not voting, and that has never, ever been close to a privilege that I would not take advantage of! I wish one ofthem would come up with some real plans and lay them out for us. I think they are both insulting our intelligence by just talking fluff with no substance!

First time voting is very exciting! You can't make a mistake, just vote for whomever you are more comfortable with! That is the beauty of our system, we get to vote for the candidate we have the most faith in. I know that I will end up voting, because it is such a wonderful privilege that we should take advantage of ...just gotta figure out who to vote for!

No problem Holly! When I was doing all of the cooking, I was actually thinking of you, making all those yummy homemade things. I have to say that the chicken soup came out particulary tasty! Tomorrow we're making pumpkin pie. Went to the pumpkin patch and got a couple of sugat pumpkins over the weekend. Soooo much better than the canned pumpkin ( but I love that too! )

SWTHD - I don't know who you're voting for (and it's YOUR vote) but I think you need to listen to what the candidates have to say (NOT your friends, the disboards OR the media), check the candidates records, do your research and....vote!
