I've always thought is was odd that fireplaces in houses in the South seem very popular. I'm not sure if it is just for decorative reasons or not. I've not run into many in the South who actually use their's. I'd rather have the wall space. All the house plans I am looking at have fireplaces! You lose a whole wall - especially in the plans where the fireplace is flanked by windows. But, having grown up in the North, I know how wonderful they can be on those snowy nights, and downright cold days as well.

That confuses me too!

I often ask my self that very same question! I work for a very large company who's market share is in systems and business process outsourcing. My business unit delivers service to mid - large ERP customers who wish to outsource their ERP ans/or Messaging solution to reduce cost. I report into the Solutions Team along with the Solutions Engineers and Architects. The team is responsible for working with Sales and customers to plan and spec out technical landscapes, including network infrastructure, server farms, and primary/secondary business solutions. I'm responsible for support functions for this team and the rest of our business unit. Among my responsibilities are vendor interaction, primary interface to other corporate support teams, capital expediture processing, procurement, and ownership of a number of SharePoint pages that I keep to enable central communication and document management. <That's the short version!> :)

:confused3 So ummmm...what do you do?:) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm sure most of us had a dwelling furnished in "Early Poverty" - I know I did. My first apartment (I was 23 and moved 1800 miles away with a guy I'd known for less than a year) in Dallas we had a mattress on the floor, and went around stealing milk crates for our other furniture! I remember those days fondly... :rotfl: Oh, and I STILL do laundry at my parent's.

Definitely started out in early poverty...but we've moved up to middle aged poverty!;)

This reminds me of a trip where we stayed at the Boardwalk! I was with my Aunt and her family (note: this is my mother's youngest sister and she is actually closer in age to me than to my mom). We were riding round on one of those six seater bike thingys and going all the way around the waterway. Over at the Beachclub they were having a Business Affair - Cocktail Party type thing with people in business attire. To get all the way around you had to weave through them on the sidewalks. It was very commical, and some of them were a more than a little tipsy. They starting cheering us on and then started betting on how fast we could make the circuit! :rotfl2: Drunk Business people away from home... there's nothing else like them.

Well Happy Weekend TKers! Relax, kick back, enjoy your family and pets!

Today's Weather: Still YUCKY in my opinion. No sun, only 47 degrees. Yes, that is cold in Georgia!
Today's Word: Troll - An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.
Today's Question: If you were invisible, where would you go?

Gooood question, I'll have to think about this one awhile!

They moed the smileys again and I am so confused.

:thumbsup2 I perfectly understood that!!!! My last job was a Systems Engineer for a Software Co. I HATE Salespeople!:lmao:

To me he was the Greatest president, pulled this country through the Great Depression and WWII. Just the relationship alone between him and Churchill during WWII is fascinating. Those two saved the world. He started many of the programs we have today, Social security, 40 hour work week...etc He also was elected 4 times. He passed away in his 4th Term. Througout his Presidency he was know for his Humor and humanity, all while suffering greatly from Polio. He was in constant pain, and crippled and only those close to him knew it. It was very rare that a pic was taken of him in a wheelchair.

Just a very interesting man. I read many books about him and saw every movie ever made about him.:thumbsup2

..Oh yeah, in the play Annie, he tought Annie the song 'Tommorrow":lmao: :lmao:

All very true...except (per Lizzie) Annie taught FDR the song Tomorrow!

We live fairly close to FDR's home and library. Fascinating place! I love to go there.

Thanks for the heads up Colleen!!! I did learn that in nursing school. It can lead to Reyes Syndrome but from what I learned once they reached a certain age and weight it was okay.

We did plan to switch him to Motrin in 6hrs if his fever does not break but it seems to have broke and he's right at 99 now.

I know it will spike back up though... it usually does.

Great looking out, I know I can depend on you guys :goodvibes

Ok...as long as nurse Cally is on the ball I know the boy will be fine :flower3:

I still won't give aspirin with a fever and my two are 18 and 22 now~

we were thinking of doing netflix..... not sure tho. Do they have a big selection?

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

Hubby is in charge of our "queue" and is very happy with the selection~

You know I never knew about the aspirin/fever thing until I went to school.

From what I understood also is if you have flu-like symptoms or chicken pox it is not safe to give aspirin.

But it's always better to be safe and just stay away, I understand.

But as far as DeV goes...his fever has not come back. :thumbsup2

I think we just might try netflix.

Well plans have changed as far as watching Kal..

She came over at noon (grandma had her from 6 to noon) and was suppose to be picked up at 4 but her mommy took on another shift and now she will be picked up at 11. :confused3

She worked from 6am to 2pm....then from 5pm to 11pm :scared:

That's a LONG day!!

Hey Tk'ers!

had company today my neices family and her in laws! Makenzie was here...and in a VERY SILLY MOOD! The way the downstairs of the house is built, one can walk in a complete circle from room to room. I swear she did it about 100 times!:rotfl2: I was giving her things to bring to a room, or to a person...and she didnt miss a beat!:thumbsup2

Watched the Oscars....John Stewart did a great job!:thumbsup2 The only movie I saw all year that was nominated for anything was Ratatouille! I really want to see "Juno" & "There will be Blood"!

Netflix offers Blue Ray discs in their service...we haven't "rented" a movie since Kiminy turned us on to netflix a few years ago. We do the 3 movies at a time plan.

Whatever became of Kimmy?:sad1:

Oops u r right! :) I am Anniedyslexic! Kylie my Godsons DD is a ANNIE FANATIC!!!!! watches it everyday. When ever she gets in trouble with her Grandmother (my friend Bobs wife) she tells her in the sweeeeeeeeeetest voice, and looking coyly.."I love you Miss Hannigan"!:rotfl2:

We live fairly close to FDR's home and library. Fascinating place! I love to go there.
