It's a dreary day here today too but we can use the rain and it's not a holiday here so I'm not complaining too much.

I hope it clears up for all of you though, so it doesn't spoil your holiday.

A story about Liz:

Yesterday she was working as a student nurse at the hospital. She comes home and tells me that a patient was very rude and condescending towards her. He was ordering her around like she was his personal servant.

Apparently she told him right off. She told him she was not there to be orderd around that she was a nurse and there to help him get better.

I guess he really went right off at her, screaming and swearing and told her she was in the wrong profession then.

She didn't back down though, she handed him his urinal and left

She told the nurse in charge of her what had happened and she told her.......... "good for you"

If you are going to be a nurse you have to be tough and you can't let patients make you cower.

I'm just so surprised that she stood up to that guy though. She's not at all the assertive/aggressive type.

Nice to know that she will stand her ground when she needs to. .... all 5ft 3, 100 pounds of her

Good for her!!! These patients sometimes think they are in a hotel or something. It can get frustrating.

Look everybody. I changed my ticker. The house we are renting in Cape Cod is vacant for the rest of the week, so the owner called and said if we want to go early, we can, free of charge. DH and DD(15) have to work Friday so can't go early but DD(11) and DD(13) really want to go early, so I'm at work right now finishing up a few things that need to be done before we go. It's a miserable rainy day here, so that's no big deal! I've spent lots of today packing. I'll bring the dog to the kennel in the am, drop DD off at work and then drive to the Cape. DH and DD(15) will drive up on Saturday morning.

Hello TKers,

Well I went to a party my DB and DSIL were giving and it has rained steadily all day long.....
They had one of those carport tent things so we all stood under that and it wasnt too bad...
All the food was very good and Im sure I will not like the scale tomorrow...
It was a fun (but damp)time

My other DBand wife are coming in to visit , tomorrow and Friday...We dont get to see them often ...So that will be nice...

I think....Im going to go see whats on the TV....
Maybe find a blanket to curl up under......Brrrrr ...What happened to sunny July?

Nothing like a good nap after eating Q!

We had a good bbq. The sun was shining and it was very hot We got the kids a slip and slid and they played with that while we grilled all the food.

Nana and Gramps came over too. It was a good time.

Kitchen is all cleaned up and now we are just relaxing on the sofa.

I am back to working on my Magicmeets schedule. Fred gave all the workers the meet schedule and I have some final tweaking to do...

I still feel great about the deal I got on my luggage, I got the same as DU only in red and I paid $50 for mine. I brought down the little rolling suitcase and the shoulder bag for my niece to use. She and my Mom are headed to WDW this saturday

Target has some on-line, they may have some in the store.

there is a thread on the CB about skateboarders being arrested recently. There is a poster there calling these children vermin...that really burns my britches to the point where I've gone and gotten myself involved in the convo.
