WELLLLLLLL, IT HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!!! I SENT OFF THE FIRST PACKAGE TODAY (FINALLY)! EASTER/SPRING IS ON ITS WAY. :sunny: :flower1:

For the Newbies, let's keep the recipient a secret for now. :ssst: Maybe we'll get some more joiners when they see how this works. ;) :goodvibes

When the receiver receives, maybe they can send a summer package? :confused3 Just an idea, as whatever everyone sends is up to them depending on the season/holiday. Maybe another Spring package would make it in time. :confused3 (DRAT!!! I should've sent some seeds for planting! :rolleyes2 )

I was also thinking that since 2 sisters signed up one after the other, that they might not want to send to the other? :confused3 (Correct me if I'm wrong tho) So, I was thinking that at the time the receiver is ready to shop/send, I'll draw a name of all the current active TKs who are still interested. That way, if someone has lost interest, or circumstances change, they can always drop out, and rejoin again later. This whole go-around is going to take quite a while. ::yes:: There will be a chance for everyone, eventually. Plus, it's kinda like a TK lottery! :rotfl: :yay:

Input anyone? :confused3

Receiver: Hope you enjoy! :teeth: :wave2:

I like the lottery idea, I think we (sisters) would rather send to someone else......I can't wait!!! I love sending presents!! :goodvibes

 Susan

Have a good weekend.

:wave2: Betsy, I've not seen either ophie or TZM around :confused3

I've not ever planned any meets before either but Colleen obviously has some sort of experience :smooth: I'm sure we can come up with some sort of plan, have no idea of what it might be at the moment though.

Just a side note for anyone planning on going to the Niagara Falls meet. You will only be an hour or so away from Toronto. Good opportunity to fit in a visit to Toronto too.

Hello everyone..

Boy it's raining like crazy over here today. We are having storms all day and right now we are under a tornado watch! :scared:

Colleen, love all the pics!

Stay safe Cally.

The sun is shining very brightly here today but I have a feeling that it is not so warm out.

Today is Rick's birthday. He has gone to Toledo Ohio (about 2 hour drive) with his remote control airplane buddies. He won't be home until late.

So, the kids and my parents and I are going out to dinner to celebrate his birthday without him :thumbsup2 Heck I figure he's going out to eat tonight, so why shouldn't we. :smooth:

Just a quick hi to everyone :wave2: . Things are crazy here. Trying to keep in touch with all my family in Tennessee, they seem to have made it out unharmed thank goodness. They all live in Hendersonville and Gallatin. The tornadoes have done major damage to that area :sad1: . Cally, stay safe! I heard there was some bad storms down that way. Hope everyone else is doing ok!

As you can see by the latest pics we actually have alot of open land near us...

There are at least 3 places I can go to on the one road to watch horses and take pics of em. My best pics are from the early morning rides, the fog adds a nice touch to the landscape.

Robin...your flowers are about a month behind mine and I think Cally's will be a month ahead...

Sorry to hear of the storms Cally, my FIL told me about it this morning. One of his nieces lives in Atlanta. Hope everything is ok there...with you too IMA...I just saw that you're being hit bad with the storms as well. P&PD for your during this ugly storm season pixiedust:

 Hi Susan

I'll look into the NF area and fill you all in on what I find. A B&B would be ideal for us, who knows of any good ones there?

I'm thinking John and I drive up there friday night, spend all day saturday sightseeing with you guys and go home sunday.

I saw Tim over on their cruise thread, there's too many people I don't know there to hold a conversation with them tho. If you want to catch them I'd say to check there.

~Happy Birthday Rick~

hi everyone
i'm just popping in real quick to say hey there! weather is kind of funky here - keeps acting like it will rain, but doesn't. guess it's staying up your way, cally. we sure could use the rain down here - the fires have started, it is very, very dry.
DD's softball team lost their last couple of games this week. oh well, season is almost over. then she will pick up more pitching lessons - it kind of goes year-round at this stage. DS's lost their game this week too, but they will get better. one of the boys got a real good hit, tho!
it's national poetry month, so we have a "poetry slam" event planned for tonight at the library...roses are red, java and jazz, etc. should be fun. :bounce:
well, gotta go. mary

ima, I hadn't heard about any tornadoes. I hope all of your family is safe and stays that way.

Colleen, I'm still waiting for those flowers we were talking about of mine to bloom so I can post a picture for you. ;)

I personally have not stayed in a B & B. Why do you prefer them over hotels :confused3

Anybody have any suggestions on what they want to see or do while we are in Niagara Falls :confused3 If you have any let us know, so we can develop some sort of a plan for our time together.

:wave2: Mary

Why a B&B? Because I've never stayed in one that's all...

they seem cozier and more romantic than a hotel~

Okay, I just wondered if you knew more about them than me.

I know my inlaws have stayed in a B&B somewhere near to Niagara Falls and they liked it :confused3

IF and that's a big IF, I see or talk to them I'll ask them where it was.

It was be great if we all decided to stay overnight at the same place, or as many as we can get together.

Then we could hang out at the pool or hot tub in the evening. :smooth:

I took a real quick glance at those links Colleen and I will go back to look at them more further.

The Keg is a really nice steak house type restaurant. I've never eaten in the Skylon Tower revolving restaurant but my parents have.

The Maid of the Mist boat ride down by the falls is cool. We did that with Rick's cousins when they came to visit from Holland. It was so windy that day that one of his cousins held onto a column on the boat and just clung to it. Mind you she has balance problems to begin with. We laughed and laughed so much, it was just great.

The behind the falls tour is great too. There is also a spot where you can walk on a boardwalk down along beside the river further down. It is very nice too.

We were going to do the cable car over the gorge but it broke down right before we got on

Of course you can't miss Clifton Hill which is a kind of mini Vegas style strip. Quite interesting to see with many stores and museum type things, kinda tacky but neat.

There is a casino and a butterfly conservatory nearby too.

I kinda like the look and location of the embassy...

Any thoughts?

It seems they have a two night package that includes 2 breakfasts and a dinner for two.

The Aladdin package includes a theatre show, that saturday only has matinees tho, no evening show.

~I like the looks of The Keg restaurant and the sound of the behind the falls tour~

Colleen, what is the name of the two night package you were looking at?

They start at about $600US

I just looked at the B&Bs...

The B&Bs aren't what I'd expected :confused3

Here's a map of the area I just found...

01.jpg

I checked the other hotels....

the quality inns and days inn suites and such and the average cost starts at $300US and can go well over $1000 depending on where you wanna stay.

The Quality Inn looks decent enough and the prices are better than the embassy. The Days Inn Suites is brand new and just as close and the price is about the same as the Quality Inn.

Is anybody other than Robin and Betsy and Me gonna make it to NF? WHat price level are you all comfortable with?
