Betsy, let us know how those lessons go. I'm thinking it might actually be difficult for QT to "learn" what she already knows. She's obviously very bright tho! What an ear for music , what a gift and joy!



Kelly & I are off again tomorrow , and I haven't had to 'time-out' her yet. We have several things to do Tuesday - first being renewing my driver's license. Funny thing is, the last pic on my DL is from 8 years ago, nice pic, but I was pregnant with Kelly! 4 years ago I renewed by mail or online, so no new pic. I actually WANT a new DL pic! Imagine that! I also want to stop by DSILs and see if she needs help with the kids (following her surgery), drop by my friend's house with some gift/goodie bags for her and her DDs (following surgery), get some grocery shopping done, etc., etc., blah, blah, blah. We'll be running around, leave it at that.

That's it from me!

I really should get an A+ for behaving this long while unattended. Wouldn't you agree?

Thank you for the prayers & pd. I am certainly hoping that the news tomorrow means no back surgery. It's the lesser of two evils, I believe. The recovery will be less, I think. I'm really worrying about her financials though. I really don't know what the situation is with all that.

As for cards, that would be plenty cool. Her room number right now is temporary. But anyone who wants to send a card is welcome to PM me and I'll send you back an address (even if they go the house, my brother can take them to her). I've been looking at flowers. I want to send something kind of different. The standard "get well" ones are kinda boring, IMO. So I was looking at the Fall ones. There's a really cute one with a scarecrow @ 1800flowers.com

While I like the scarecrow/fall idea, the flowers don't especially thrill me. JUSTmo. Do you know your Mom's fave flower(s)? If so, try that. If it's daises - go with it!

Funny thing about flowers - My Mom does NOT like to receive fresh/live flowers, her thinking (which is true), is that they die, they're gone, gift gone. I, on the other hand, LOVE having fresh flowers, in a vase, right by the kitchen sink, where I can smell, look at and enjoy them every day! I have been indulging myself the past 2 months or so, buying the on-sale flowers at the grocery store and most have lasted up to 2 weeks! I'm LOVING it! Carnations are MY fave! And, everything I buy is 2 bunches for $5! Great pick-me-up!

That would be a hoot if we all picked numbers for this thing and ALL picked the same number. I think we'll have to talk tinknutt into choosing names. I like the scarecrow. It's very cute. If you think your mom would like him, then go for it. I too love to have flowers. My mom usually sends me a nice arrangement for our anniversary but other than that I usually buy my own.

Kim ~~ if you get my name you may exceed the limit ( I will indulge your bad habit ). It's not necessary that you do but I'm sure you will have a hard time restraining yourself I TOO prefer the minimum requirement instead of the price limit I'm bad that way too

Another gloomy day here....

I would also like to send your mom a card...please PM me with the address...and her name would be nice ...unless you want me to call her "Ophies mom" ....also does she like pretty scenery?...cute animals?...funny?.....inspirational?..anyway hope she gets some good news today!..


I already have ideas for some of you, for a SS gift ....This is going to be fun....and does the limit...include shipping?....I hope not!...


On the gift suggestions front...we could do a likes and dislikes questionnaire...You know fave color ...the color you dislike...fave activity..what you hate to do...etc....etc... that might help... ...We all pretty much know fave disney...but it could be included too...Things your collecting???...fave kind of music...????...just a suggestion..As I said befor Ill go along with what everyone else wants to do!...


Pans lessions went well...Im afraid the teacher didnt expect Pan to be as good as she is...I told her over the phone, but I think she though I was just a proud DGM....because once Pan played for her it was like she didnt know ...what music book she wanted her to start in...She said she didnt want to bore Julia with music that was so easy...even though she cant read it...SOOO she has her starting with scales with the right ,...then the left...and she has to study a little bit of tablature..but she knows the notes...Just not the placements and rests and all...and she was using her hands wrong on the keys...so she has to practice the right way...Im not worried though she picks things up fast...and she LOVES to play...


The only off note in the whole lession was...that the keyboard Pan has (its full size)..may not be good enough for her( the keys need to get louder as she hits them harder...some elec. keyboard dont..she doesnt think hers does)...and I CANT afford a better one...So she will just have to plug along with this one.... BUT Im optimistic!...I think she will do just fine with what we have...


I am starting to get my hollween decorations out ....I already have "DEAD FRED" up and in a lawn chair on the front yard...the DGGs, my DH and I made him last year...we did so well we kept him in the barn..sat him on a stump in the corner..he kept the horses company while they were there...Im sure he was also a nice warm home for some mice too... anyway its time for him to go to work...but I bought him a scarcrow crow to keep him company as he sits in my front yard.this year...I have also bought some pretty light purple mums ...I have been waiting to plant ...now all I have to do is go into the attic and get all my ghosts and spiders and things...
I never use to decorate after the boys grew up...but the DGKs started to complain...So now I do...


and I get to make homemade treats, because the only trick or treaters I get are them!....So I KNOW Ill get exactly 10 trick or treaters ...well really nine...Kateri..wont want any treats..maybe Ill get her a little stuffed animal or something..

Okay, just a quick update before I get back to work. They reevaluated Mom either last night or early this morning and decided that her right wrist did not need surgery. They did decide though to go ahead and do surgery on her left hand this morning about 5:45a. I got word about 10:30a that she's already back in her room and that she came through it just fine. So that's good too! They are still waiting on the back brace to come in. Obviously it had to be custom molded and is taking a bit. I hear that they're calling it" the turtle shell." But, when it comes in, they'll take a new back CT with it on and decide about back surgery. So that's where we are right now. I'll let everyone know if I learn anything new. Oh, and I'll PM you guys. Thank you all so much. You guys are the best!! Oh, and is there another online flower site you guys know about? Other than 1800Flowers.com?

Okay, back to working on my deadline.

Yup, definitely a good thing. I spoke to her earlier this afternoon. There was no new news, but she did tell me that she likes her current roomie. Her roomie is a fireball of a little old lady who was hit by a car the other day and has more breaks than mom does. I think her name is Lucille. Anyway, while we're on the phone I hear Lucille cursing at the Speed Channel. hehehehe. Too funny!

Well, I had a lovely day - when I got up, DH asked me if I wanted some eggs for b'fast and he made me eggs! Then when I was getting ready for work - he packed my lunch! He even cut the crusts off my bread! Then he took me to the movies and bought me a BIG popcorn for dinner - one of my favorite dinners! We're just relaxing before I have to go to bed and start work again tomorrow!

Ophie - I'm glad your mother is doing well from her surgery. Please keep us posted and Happy Birthday to your brother whatever day it is!

DalPal - PansQT sounds like quite the budding musician! Don't worry too much about the keyboard - if she's really interested, she'll keep at it!

Cruisin - What am I going to do with you? limits, Limits, LIMITS! It's like I'm surrounded by Tinknutts! Not necessarily a bad thing.....I shop so little and limits at least help me with what to get - you can't expect me to use my imagination when I'm shopping!

I guess that she will be watching an awful lot of television for awhile.

I suppose she could listen to books on CD's or audio cassettes for a change from tv watching.
