 Hi all.

Guess, what...... I'm back :cool1:

It's been a very successful past few days.

Liz is home from camp now.

Rick won second place in his division at the Canadian Remote Control Scale Aerobatics Nationals(airplane competition).

Just think, if he had won first place I would be living with the Canadian National Remote Control Aerobatic Pilot Champion in the Sportsman Division:eek: :faint:

Aww, well, I wouldn't know what to do with such an important person in my house, so I guess it's a good thing he didn't win ;)

Actually he was a bit disappointed (he lost by only 100 points). It had been back and forth between first and second place between him and another guy all weekend. At the very end the other guy managed to pull his score ahead of Rick's and win the title.

All in all we had a good weekend.

Been pretty quiet around here these past few days.

Congrats to Rick on 2nd place - that is great!!! & welcome home to Liz...

Last few days of summer vacation for DS - he goes back to school on Wednesday....although i'm just getting up (2:30 am) and he's still awake...i think he needs to get in a better 'bed time' routine tonite & tomorrow night!!

have a great Monday!!

My kids don't go back unitl September 5. The week before school we always get back into school routhine with bedtimes. A couple days before school we make them get up at school time so they are used to it. My 2 oldest girls 8th grade and 11th grade are always fine about getting up, but with my 7th grader it is a struggle and a fight everyday!

RIck 2d place:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: !

Good Morning Thredkillers!

Tom's first day of work since his surgery. He was supposed to work half days (9-1) but he left for work at 8...I think he's ready!

Congratulations to Rick on his acrobatics with an airplane! I would get dizzy just watching. It sounds like you had a great time!

Today is the first day of school for Florida. They are starting 2 weeks later than last year - they are making the jump to starting around labor day like the rest of the world. We used to go the first part of August until May. That gave the kids a little bit of the good weather before the heat kicked in. Unfortunately - spring break was no where near Easter!

I hope ya'll are having a great day! I'm off to get my hair cut and run some errands!

Schools here are very strange....public schools start mid August - this year i think it was the 13th...they don't get out till almost end of June, but they also have almost a month for Christmas holidays. Many Hispanics here who take a month to visit family in Mexico, so the schools were losing soooo much money each day all those kids were gone, they just rearranged the school year to accomodate.

the private schools are pretty much on the same schedule within a day or so...they are all starting one day this week & will get out somewhere around June 8th...they only get the 2 wks for Xmas holiday...the only bad thing is we seldom take vacation during summer so usually end up with small trips during school year when DS has long weekends or go on long trips without him~

Good Afternoon TKers!

Still recovering from my Vacation. :headache:

Here is a list of what was broke in the house when I came back!
The Stove, Electric coil cracked!
The Fridge, handle broke...and the fridge & frezzer thermostats were turned down to "1"
Vacum Cleaner:eek: (not that anybody used it) The foot thing to make it swivel back was broke!
James Bike!!!!   The chain was off & the gearshift was bent!:scared1:
The back fence fell over!

...and of course NO ONE TOUCHED ANYTHING!:scared:

Really I walked into 'Animal House' last Sunday night! You would have thought a tornado came threw!

... oh yeah the HEAT was on!

Getting back to normal...sort of!:scared:

WELCOME HOME LIZ!:goodvibes
CONGRATS TO RICK!:thumbsup2 I never 'sort of knew' a 2nd place Division Champion at the Canadian Remote Control Scale Aerobatics Nationals.....airplane competition...BEFORE!

DU - i'm laughing so hard - almost fell outta my chair.....you have GOT to put in a WEB CAM...so you can REALLY see what's going on!!!

DU~

I'm sending you my princesses! It always looks like a tornado has swept through our house! You won't even notice they're with you!

When does James go back to his Mom for school?

Ann~ I love the new car smell! Yankee candle makes an airfreshnerer for the car with that smell...that's as close as I'm getting to a new car for a while!:lmao:

How was Tom's first day back at work? Is he exhausted or wishing he could have stayed longer?

Tom came home from a 6 hour day sore, but not in a lot of pain. He fell asleep in his chair while I made dinner (spaghetti squash AlFredo with asparagus & pancetta...yummy!) and is feeling better now. I asked if he was going in regular time tomorrow, he said he's not quite ready for it...but he's glad to be back at work!

Thanks for the tip on the new car freshener....I'll have to remember that!

I hope ya'll are having a GREAT day!

Hi Threadkillers!

TW - I did my laundry today, too! It always feels good when you're done...doesn't it?

Rory - it sounds like the basement is going to be fabulous! DH and I bought a flatscreen for our bedroom a year ago and it's the best.

DU - Makenzie sounds adorable! I hope your week slows down and you get the opportunity to get the things done you want to do.

I forgot to tell ya'll. Yesterday - I got a new car. We had a 2006 Honda Element - a fun, fun, FUN car...but I was ready for a wee bit more luxury.

We picked up a 2008 Acura (literally just off the truck, they had to remove all the plastic on the hood, doors, etc). It has one of those on-board navagation systems. They're really neat - except this one also helps run the car...A/C, phone, audio system, lights...everything! So you really need to learn how to use it. It's a 4-door pearl white with parchment leather. Smells like new car here in Florida!

I hope ya'll are having a great night!

SWEEEEEEEEEET! Does it have XM? A co-worker got it and I can't listen to regular radio anymore! To many comercials.:rolleyes1

Hello all,

I just wanted to stick my head in and say hey. I miss you guys. I've been hanging around the Cruise forums very sparingly lately. And that's about it.

I've been not wanting to be here since May when I found my name being slandered on an outside forum where DISers make fun of other DISers. (If anyone's curious: PM me.)Horrible things were said about me, what I spend my money on, my appearance, my fiance... the list goes on. And I'm talking about pretty obvious respected (or people I used to respect) too. All because I am going on a Disney honeymoon while still on foodstamps. Oh, never mind the fact I haven't been on food stamps since before Christmas. Never mind the fact that I own my own business now. Never mind the fact that Dave and I are both making very good money. Because I was on food stamps once I'm forever sponging from the government on food stamps.

These people have literally made me hate this place and myself. I stay on the cruise board because I know nothing about the Disney cruises and since we're going on one need some kind of knowledge about it, you know? But it's still hard to do it. Being on the DIS has caused some self loathing in myself for something that happened nearly a year ago.

But I wanted to tell you all that I do still think about you guys and really do miss you guys. You all mean a lot to me! I hope you think about me from time to time too.

:grouphug:

WELCOME WELCOME Disney 100666!! This is ONE FUN GROUP!!! I hate to admit that i 'just' now watched HSM & some of HSM2 (have to 'rewatch' that one..too many interrptions)..,.but they were cute & reminded me a little of our FUN cruise sailaway...but can totally see why the little chickies are SOOOOO into them!!! My coworker's 7 y/o was 'screaming' Friday night with all her little friends....kind of like me when i saw Journey errrr...rather Steve Perry for the 1st time in concert....

:wave2: Hi Rayani. Nice to see you pop your head back in here again to say hello :thumbsup2

I know what board you are speaking of because sometimes I go over there just to see what's happening. Not very often and I am not registered on that board, so I don't post there. It does get very very nasty over there sometimes. :sad2:

A new car Ann..... cool. Now you don't own that "ugly box" (as Liz calls it) anymore:lmao:

Glad to hear that Tom made it to his first day of work okay.

I got a postcard today :cool1:

It's a really cool one too ::yes::

It is a sticker postcard.

If you peel the sticker off of the front it looks exactly the same underneath... neat.... a postcard and a sticker in one.:goodvibes

Thanks DU. :teeth: It came tucked into the middle of a big pile of bills :sad2: It was great to have something to offset all that nasty mail.

By the way....... what is a P & P P :confused3 :confused3

SWEEEEEEEEEET! Does it have XM? A co-worker got it and I can't listen to regular radio anymore! To many comercials.:rolleyes1

Yes, it has an XM...but I listen to Christmas music year round and not even XM radio has that....so I probably won't even use the 90 day freebie. I use my iPod when I'm in the car.

A couple of things we did get that (being a scardy-cat girl) I like is 7 year 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and 4 years roadside assistance for any type of emergency - including running out of gas!

Hi everyone - nice to see you stop by Rayani.

I'm on-line while DH is on the phone with our DS. We were watching a movie, so I paused it while he's on the phone.

I hope ya'll are having a nice evening. I got a TON of housework done today and ran a bunch of errands, too! I even figured out how to program the address book in the car so I can get directions and make calls easier (I am SUCH a gadget girl!)

Take care ya'll....gotta finish the movie!
