Yep, Cally, I was a mean-green Marine! I was SO gung-ho! Looking back, I really loved it. I was ready to get out when I did, but I'm glad I joined! In fact, my twin brother and I were both in the Marines!

If everything goes well on New Years Eve we will be moving into our new house... We will know by Wednesday if the builder accepted our offer....

That is exactly what I said!!!! This is our first time buying a house...I always taught it takes months and what not...... The realtor said that it would be better this way because if we closed on the end of month we would not have a mortage payment til Feb and DH would get a whole paycheck of housing allowance that we would be able to keep......if that makes sense.....

I hope things go well too... Is there anything we should know ..any inside tricks or something that real estate lawyers do?

Wow, Ann!! As a coincedence, I know the Marines poster-boy of (gosh is it..) 2002! Maybe 2003, but probably 2002. I have a framed poster of him with me down here. He's a cutie, and my brother's dear friend. He's back from duty now (again), living in 29 Palms. God Bless you ALL!!!

What state are you in? It varies from state-to-state. Some states, you don't even need or use a lawyer. In Illinois, WE DO!!!

Personal advice: START PACKING NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's okay Cally - I posted enough pics for the entire universe tonight! Now I have to put the picture box away! I even downloaded a picture of DH in second grade for DD. He had one of those "Fonzie" cool curls in the middle of his forehead - what can I say - it was the 50's and he had some major attitude adjusting to go through before he married me and became the sweetie-pie he is today!

The poster Marine? Cool! Don't they look great in their dress blues? It gives me the chills!

Did ya'll know it's after 1AM?!!! I've got to go to bed....I know, I know, I threaten all the time....but I'm thinking seriously about it! We're meeting DD, DSIL & DGS at 8AM for b'fast.................(what?)

I live in Georgia.. I believe that Ga does require lawyers...because when the mortage co went over the contract with us she explained the lawyer fees and all that....


I dread having to pack ..but I've already got alot of stuff together that we want to donate....loads of clothes, toys, and old furniture.....almost 2 carloads of stuff... can't believe we have so much junk.....it's hard to pack when you're still using the stuff... lol

I haven't really started to pack tho because I wanted to wait til after christmas....

I think the marines have the best looking dress uniform out of all the branches.... and the USAF have the ugliest!!!!

No, Ann.... no driving to Florida with a hangover for us.

We are both pretty much non drinkers. Rick might have a glass of wine a year but I don't drink any alcohol at all. I have never developed a taste for it, so I don't bother with it.

I am behind on this conversation. Trying to talk to my son who just came home and DIS at the same time.

Yeah, I liked the Marines uniforms. The airforce are too...........blue. The army............too green. The navy..........the chiefs & officers are okay, the lower enlisted ranks.............too......something!

For some reason the Air Force uniform they make the pants odd shaped...the way the taper them or something..so something.. and the jacket is like a balloon..not fitted or anything....and those ugly hats... LOL .. I make fun of DH when he wears blues..which is like once every 3 yrs.. LOL ... but he does look good in those BDU's! He mostly wears a flight suit now though... they are kind of ugly too........
