I hear you Robin, but I'll tell you how they catch up.....they keep those other children from advancing. Unfortunately for DD's school, I've been supplementing at home for 6 years, and I'm not about to stop now, and 'wait for the others to catch up'. Seriously though, I hope they do catch up. Average is A-OK with me.

Unfortunately I think you are right Kim. It is not fair to the child to be held back, but you know the really smart ones are going to learn whether they are taught or not. They will find their own opportunities to learn and advance. If they have the drive to learn nothing will stop them.

There is nothing wrong with being average either if that is what you are meant to be. There is a place in this life for all kinds of intellect levels.

Garbage collectors, auto mechanics, grocery store clerks, plumbers, doctors, lawyers, teachers etc, they all have their role to fill and we need all of them to make life run smoothly.!!!
