So where do all of the guests hang out for that hour they are banned from the park????

I can picture them all sitting outside the gate with their nose pressed against the proverbial "window", watching and waiting to be let back in.

How much approx does it cost to go to these special nights? Do you have to enter the parks for the whole day or can you just go for the special party?

Cruisin' :boat: ...

we alwys leave whatever park we are in that day to give us enough time to go back to the resort....or the RV...depending where we're staying...

so we can get our costumes on....then head to MK..

we purchase the tix for the special night n advance....

last year..I went as Donald Duck....and it was a warm night....the costume got uncomfortable....but..still had a ton-o-fun...

the year before hat....we wre staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge....we hung out there all day...they had plenty of activities for the kids at the resort...including trick or treating....

ten...we went and changed....headed over to MK..I was the Big Bad Wolf that year...

last year...either the nght before Halloween...or the night before that...

we took a ride on "The Haunted Hayride" at Fort Wilderness....

that was a blast!

the Grandkids still talk about it..

The lurkers in the :space:

or

I should have known who ate the peanutbutter cups!!!!

So you decided to break with tradition and not go for Halloween this year????

Is it difficult to go on the rides with the costume or do you just trick or treat?

btw....beacuase the Donald Duck costume was so warm...on such a warm night...

i just HAD to ride Splash Mountain to cool off....a lot!

I think I rode it about 15 times that night....

I like most of Splash Mountain .............. it is just the Splash part that I don't like :p

Not so much a break i traditin...as it is returnin to an older tradition....

we always went in December in the 80's and most of the 90's...

when PA and I went the very first time in 1975...it was in December...

we love the Christmas decoarations...and the special shows for the Yuletide...

and then...we started going to Mickeys Christmas Party at MK...

so...this year...December is a return to our favorite time of the year there...

did you know they change the "Country Bears" show for Christmas"

PA and I and the kids...never saw the regular "country Bear" show until 1994 for me and her...and 1999 for the kids...

I did that one with DISConII in 2002! Lots of fun that night, but all adults, so I didn't get to see EVERYTHING.

BP, you owe me PB cups, Big Time! Or, Snickers. ;)

I'm not dressing up, I'm scary enough. I do have a Disney Halloween shirt to wear tho. ;) DD will go as Cinderella again, thankfully. I added a few accessories this year, that were free with Disney Reward $$. Already planning to scoop up next year's costume, Esmerelda, while they're on sale, also with Rewards $$, or the gift card that came with the 'puter. I think she only wants Esmerelda for the tambourine and earrings.

So, what's everyone else going as?

I prefer to answer the door actually, and see all the kids, they're so cute! ::yes::

Robin, page 400, it's quicker to find. ;)

I don't dress up for Halloween. If anybody asks I always say that I am wearing my "mean mommy" costume ;)

Gosh, I don't remember the last time I saw the Country Bears ...... a long, long time ago.

We have been there quite a few times around Christmas too. Usually we end up there the very beginning of January, so all of the decorations are still up. We will be on the Magic Jan 4 next year so it will also probably have most of the decoration still up.

Brer_Papa, I went to the Magic Kingdom for the first time in 1975. I was 18 and I went with my parents and my brothers. I don't remember a whole lot of that trip but I do have some memories of it.

The next time I went was in 1979 for our honeymoon. Then we had a long stretch that we didn't go, probably until 1991. Since then we have been lots of times ::yes::

I haven;t decided for sure what I will dress up as this year...

since we're not going to WDW...I haven't
pre-planned as well...

I probably told you this before....but the year I bought the Big Bad Wolf Costume....I put it on....and decided to show the Grandkids....BUT..the only way I could fit in a car with it on..was to take the T-tops off the Corvette..so...

there I was...Big Bad Wolf head stuck a foot above the roof..driving around Erie....

I got some looks..

now...I am busting a gut to tell somebody about the beginning of the parade for the Halloween Party...

or is it too much a spoiler to know...

Thanks Kim.

I was thinking that page 243 was a very long way back in time :D

You can spill about the parade if you like Brer_Papa. I would love to hear about it since I doubt I will ever get there to see it.

What time of year did you go in 1975 Brer_Papa. We went during I think August. It was sooooo hot then. Were we there at the same time  That would be so interesting. I could figure out the dates we were there if I really wanted to.

OOOPPPPSSS, I just reread your previous post and you said you were there in December, sorry!!

well...since we started talkingChristmas @ WDW...

something newer...that we enjoy a lot....

the resorts have a new competition...they build gingerbread/candy houses or villages...and put them on display....

we like to take a day and just resort hop checking them out....

Cruisin' :boat: ....

so much has changed since 1975....only MK at the time...a lot fewer resorts...
not as many shows....

I'll never forget the excitement though...

I can remember seeing the Castle for the first time...after seeing so many pictures of it..

I just stared at it in disbelief..that I was actually seeing it...

Speaking of 1975...that's the year i was born.. :teeth:

But anyways, tell us about the beginning of the parade :hyper:

It was. ;) That's where I went first, then remembered she posted it again. Thanks WENDY!!!! :sunny:

Robin, 1991 was my FIRST trip ever! As an adult I might add, with my then 3-1/2yo DS. I knew NOTHING back then. Still didn't when I went again in 93 & 96. Knew just a bit in '01, thanks to the then-found DIS. Knew way more in '02 for DISConII. Next planned trip is in '06 with my whole family, Dad's treat! :hyper:

I'm still hoping to join the Cubs in early Dec this year, since the room rates have dropped, but dh hasn't said anything. :( Not a good time, I think. :worried:

I remember the heat of a Florida summer.

The line ups winding their ways through the "cattle corrals" as we dubbed them back then and still call them that to this day!!!

Going on the 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. (I think that was there then wasn't it??)

We took the trailer and camped somewhere, but I don't recall where. There was a really cool swimming pool though that I remember with a water fall. My dad would remember the name of the place if I asked him.

I remember missing Rick, because we had started to date that year and it was our first time apart for any period of time. I wrote him a letter every day that we were away. I believe we still have those letters here in the house!!!!

I had a small portable record player that ran on batteries. I had a stack of 45's that I took with me and I played them at night in the trailer.

The crazy things we remember :p

Thunder & lightning happening here! How weird, in October.

Robin, that's so sweet! Please..........post the letters here! ::yes:: :hyper:  :goodvibes
