I seem to go in spurts. Sometimes I get a cold every trip - either while there or when I get home. But I had been spared for about two years.
Had Been being the operative words.
I stayed at POR 12/2, then the Wonder for 4 days. On Thursday 12/7 while at MVMCP I started with the sore throat. It's now Sunday 12/17 and I'm still coughing and snuffling. It was a horrible cold - lots of coughing and having to sleep sitting up. I blame the atmosphere on the ship. Everything is so closed in on those decks. Loved the cruise overall though.
But here is a great cold website. It does say the incubation is 8-12 hours, so my theory on the ship could be a wash (pun intended). Read the part of how a cold virus spreads - very interesting, especially about the tear ducts in your eye.

My friend thinks you get a cold by being out in the cold. Everytime I have a cold, she tells me that I should dress warmer.
