Maybe it was the built up. Maybe it was the guy with the British accent on the Disney guide in the hotel room (saying it had to bee seen to be believed). Maybe it was boards like this.

Last time we were at WDW, my eldest DD and I went to see Fantasmic. We went about 45 minutes early and were able to get good seats. When all was said and done, I was like "that's it." It was a huge disappointment.

Is it just me, or do others feel this way?

I feel the same way although I've never admitted it to anyone before . Everyone loves it so much that I kind of felt like a freak. It's just not for me I guess :confused3

My daughter - She was 5 at the time and was hiding in my lap the whole time asking when we could leave. Couldn't leave my other dd so she had to bear it. Mind you she wasn't crying, just didn't like the noise. We will skip it next time!

I liked enough the first time or two. Then I lost interest. My sister was never into it. We are skipping it this trip.

I'd rather see Illuminations. Also looking forward to Wishes this time.

I do have to say I enjoyed Fantasmic better at Disneyland than at WDW.

We went back in May of 1999, and haven't seen it since. Not that it was terrible or anything, but I'm not going to wait in line for that again. We did the Fantasmic dinner thing, and found that the reserved seating wasn't all that great.

Like I said, we haven't seen it in a very long time, and don't feel like we're missing a thing. Just my $.02 worth...

I think it's great, but I certainly wouldn't line up hours in advance for it like people seem to do. If I can walk in and get a seat a few minutes before showtime, great. If not, that just means the lines will be shorter for ToT and Aerosmith RnRC.

I thought it was okay, but not quite what I was expecting. I guess I was just expecting too much. I'd probably go see it again, but not if it meant waiting in a long line or having to do the FDP like we did this time. Just not worth it to me. I doubt if DH would go see it again even if we could just walk right in. He wasn't at all impressed.

I actually really loved it the 2 times I went. It could just be a fun, relaxing thing to do after a long day of running around.

For me it just depended on who I was with when I saw it. DH and I saw it first and we felt the same way - "is that IT?" But, the next year I went with my DD and 2 DGDs and the girls were just soooo excited and loved it, that I enjoyed it because they did! DH and I skip it on our trips alone, but I'll be seeing it again with the girls in just a few weeks - Nov. 5th to be exact! This time we have the Fantasmic dinner package so we won't have to sit quite so long.

I HATE shows, but Fantasmic is awesome. Dont even mind the wife 'making' me go to this one

Fantasmic at MGM was disappointing to me, but that's only because I've seen the DL version a least 100 times and I like it sooooo much better. But had I never seen the DL version, I'm sure it would have blown me away.

We LOOOOVED Fantasmic but if I go to Disney more than twice a year or so I couldn't see going everytime. I also HATE that it is situated where it is so you have to go all the way into the ampitheatre to see it and then when it's over you have to watch not to get stampeded ::MinnieMo

We saw it just after it started running at MGM - I was all excited because I had not seen the DL version yet. I WAS SO BORED I FELL ASLEEP! What's with the spray screens? BORING! Never again.

While I do enjoy Fantasmic at WDW, I saw Fantasmic at DL this summer and thought it was much much better. The Peter Pan scene with the ship was great.

I really like it and think it's fun. I want to watch it once each visit, but not more than that. I consider it kinda like Dinner and a Show. We usually have a full day at the park, (MGM or another one), then stop across the street and grab some dinner to go, then go into the theater, find a seat, eat our dinner and people watch while we wait for it to begin. It feels good to just sit for awhile, even those metal benches aren't very comfortable. I don't expect more that what it is, just some good music, good special effects, Disney charachters and scenes from a few Disney movies and an interesting screen to watch some of it on. Much better entertainment than I can get at home, and only one of the many nighttime shows at WDW to enjoy.

*whispering so i don't get flamed too badly* I detested it. A LOT.

:p

Fantasmic is a pretty good show but I don't make any effort to see it. I've seen it twice and if I happen to be at MGM when it's going on I'd watch it but it's not a must see for me. I think I would enjoy it more if the seating were more comfortable. It kills my back to sit on those backless seats they have there so that agony alone is enough to keep me from wanting to see this show very often.

The one at DL is MUCH better and more impressive. I was disappointed in the WDW one after seeing that one.

I saw the WDW one once and won't go back, probably. DH really didn't like it at ALL. We'd much rather see Wishes and Illuminations =)

And the lines at RnR and ToT are MUCH shorter, which is great!!!

We enjoy Fantasmic, but I agree that its not for everyone our grand children age 5 and 7 had a problem with the villans in the show. We do the dinner package and after the show do the Osborne lights and its a great end to the day or we will jump in the car and try and make it to Epcot for illuminations
