I need flights for Sept 28th- Oct 3rd AND October 9th-14th...

Who is waiting with me???

Can we all post here when we see them pop up or better yet... Could everyone PM me if SWA dates open up beyond SEPTEMBER 12TH... then I can update this post (and I will Change the title so email notifcations will show if the fares are out....)

FARES ARE UP THRU OCTOBER 28th NOW!!!!!!

I am. We are going in late October, but we are also waiting on my DH new school calendar to let me know the weekend I can book. So I guess I am not in a hurry for SW yet. :earsgirl:

I am waiting for SWA flights for Oct 15 - Oct. 23 from Manchester, NH.
Good luck to us all.

Waiting for early October - probably 10/7-12 or thereabouts. I hate waiting, because I always want to book the minute they open up, but lots of times the cheaper fares don't come out unitl a few weeks later. Oh well, I can always take the credit since I know the next trip is already on the horizon
(i.e. also waiting for 12/9-12/14 and 2/18-25 and maybe April?????? )LOL! :earboy2:

That's my same thinking - get it booked as soon as the date opens up, then search for that lower fare so you can spend that credit on ANOTHER trip to the world!!!

Oh, waiting for Sept. 29-Oct. 4, then Dec. 2-12. :cool1:

waiting for Oct 30- Nov 6 out of Manchester NH, would fly Jet Blue or Song but would really like an earlier flight down Jet Blue leaves at 9am and Song at 8:30 am looking at the schedules for Southwest they may have a 7 am flight. We love getting there early. If we book Southwest and the rate drops do they can issue you a credit for future travel? How long is it good for? Thanks to all for the great info and advice

Waiting also-would anyone here know about booking on Transmeridian from Louisville, KY to Sanford? I know SW goes right to MCO, but we're taking an extra kid this time and need to go cheap!!! OH, dates 10/14-10/21

You can also try USA3000. Departs from newark has excellent prices. If you live in the tri state area.

(raising my hand)

I am waiting for Oct 1 - Oct 8. The Delta flight I was considering is now up to $417 per person. :earseek:

How quickly do the SW flights go once thay are released?? Do I need to check several times a day in order to get non-stop fares at the best rates?

Kristine - If you book with SW and the fare drops you have to cancel and rebook in order to get the new fare (that's what we've always had to do anyway). You have to use the credit balance within a year but I don't remember if it's within a year from when you booked the first flight or if it's a year from when you cancel and rebook.

We're also waiting for the SW fares to open up (Oct 21 - Oct 30). I've been checking Jet Blue out of Boston since their schedule is open through Jan 2006 but the best fare I can get with them right now is $89 each way so I'm going to hold out for SW to extend their schedule. I'm sure I'll be able to get a better rate with either SW or Jet Blue if I wait another month or two.

I need Oct 1 - 8, BUT I probably will wait until late summer to book. Reason? I booked my April trip in January. Thought I had a great deal. Then the price was lowered in HALF and I was out of luck bc I already booked. Southwest said I couldn't get the internet price b/c I had booked via the telephone. (Only reason I booked via the phone was because they told me I had to b/c I had an infant traveling with us.)

It's a gamble either way!

me,me, me,..........i need to book for sept 28- oct 10............

so frustrated and have been checking other companies now

I'm also waiting. We are going on Sept.11 and coming home on the 25th. We have $150 credit from a trip last year when the fares dropped.

.

I believe it is one year from when you book it... I have heard of people getting extensions... but they are few and far between, and I beleive SW charges a fee to extend it.... I could be wrong on the last point... bt I think that is how it works.

Actually, you don't have to cancel and rebook anymore. You can get the credit, if available, by using the Change Itinery portion of Travel Service on their website. Basically, you go through the prompts like you're going to change to a flight at a different time on the same day and if the lower rate shows for the times you already have booked, you check it off as if it's a change.

The credit must be used to TRAVEL within one year of originally booking date. i.e. On 5/15 you book an October flight. ON 8/15, a lower fare comes out and you get a credit on a portion of your original purchase price. That credit must be used for a trip that is completed before 5/15 of the following year (not just booked before 5/15(
