Who else is still unofficial?

DH and I picked the wedding date before we were ever engaged. As a matter of fact, we already had the wedding date and location reserved through Disney before the official proposal.

Although he wanted to get married a year earlier than I did, I wanted us to both be out of graduate school before we were married. That gave us time to plan before making things official. It was actually during that planning time (pre-engagement) that we discovered that Disney did weddings. We knew we were Disneymooning at WDW and went to read up on it and saw the heading "Disney Weddings and Honeymoons." We were hooked.

VSL,

"he knows that I only like white gold, platinum or silver, and if he insists on a diamond, then I want a coloured one - I think that's narrowed down enough!" - quote

I think you're my ring twin! I've never liked gold, which my mother, queen of all things 14k thinks is sacreligious. I love the look of silver/platinum and have always wanted my wedding ring with a colored stone. How neat.

Plus, JonettaA, you and FH look so gorgeous together ... I always wanted red hair.

I'm the same way. He knows I don't like gold, so I told him silver is perfectly fine, he suggested platinum, which is great with me, but it's not cheap! I'd rather he not buy too expensive a ring. I'd rather spend more on the wedding, honeymoon, and future than the ring.

I've been married almost three years now and I'm not sure we ever made it official... :confused3 .

:rotfl: Actually, we lived together, bought a house together and planned our Disney wedding before I picked out my ring...he just paid the bills and showed up at the altar! We still joke about how he never had to "actually" propose. I keep asking him..."what am I going to tell our children?" :rotfl:

I am! I've never posted in this forum before because I'm not officially engaged. I have been with my boyfriend "officially" for 3 years and 2 months (we actually sort of met when we were 7 years old) and we will definitely be getting married once our finances, etc. are in order. He is a huge Disney fan, like me! Oddly enough, he was "Mickey" for Halloween in 1986, the same year I was "Minnie". We're meant to be for sure! :love2:
