They are declaring snow emergencies left and right here in the Philly suburbs. We must have 6" on the ground already and are expecting 20"+. DH started his 16 hour shift plowing and won't be home til around 2 am (if he even comes home - he may just stay overnight because he will have to go right back in tomorrow morning for another 16:rolleyes: ). So.... I'm stuck here and DISing :p .

I just went out to shovel and can not believe how much snow we hav e!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it is still coming down!!! I could not even see where one step ended and another began when I went to shovel. The dog loves it though!!!

I've shoveled three times now and I can't seem to keep up. By the time I'm done and turn around the ground is covered again. I'm trying to at least keep a path from the house to the horse fence cleared so I can run buckets of water back and forth. At least this snow seems light and fluffy!

We are and will have to wait to Dh come home from plowing to do are driveway before we can get out. We sit off the road 300 ft. I have no idea when he will be home. The kids and I are watching movies, playing board cames, and now I'm on the dis board for a while.

Snowed in here as well. DW and DD are watching TV and I'm spending my time on the DISboards:D

I'm about 45 minute North of you Kdi just outside of Princeton. It's snowing in Trenton, but not here...yet. We can see it coming on the Weather channel, in fact they just showed footage of Philly.

But we're not worried, we hail from Siberacuse! (Syracuse)

Yup...suburban Philly here, too. Except I'm kind of enjoying this. I only get one hour out of every three on the computer as I'm in the darn rotation with the kids!! Gotta get that network going!!

So, kdibattista....what county are you in?? Delaware County here.

DH is in charge of Heat, Air, Refrigeration, etc at the Philly Zoo. They just asked him to stay the night in case of an emergency.

Montgomery County.... more specifically - King of Prussia

Tiggeroo,

I wonder why???

Maybe because we are getting 1-2 feet of snow???

Do you think that has something to do with it???

They just upped our snow from 12-18" to 26+. Better hurry to the store before I get snowed in. (The rain delay in the race came at a good time. :) )

We are! (NW of Columbus, Ohio) I've been DISing, baking, sons and friend have been digging/making a snow cave in the drifts out back. Good thing they don't have school, and I don't have to work tomorrow! We've probably got about 10 inches on the ground, with another 6 or so due by tomorrow at noon! Kinda fun, but at the same time I've been browsing the Keys websites trying to think warm!

Put a pot roast in, fire in the fireplace, fresh homemade bread - I guess we're set!

Wow, they've closed all the colleges around here. The last time wvu was closed for snow was the blizzard in 92(?). All surrounding counties has cancelled school for tomorrow, but ours hasn't been called yet.

Nevermind, just checked the school's website and we're closed. It just hasn't made it to the TV yet.

This is snow day #9 for my DD.

Tiggeroo-what a job for your DH! Sounds kind of neat!

Keep warm everyone!

I think I'll head over to the cruise board! LOL:cool:

School was already closed here tomorrow for Presidents Day.

I am snowed in too.

Uuggghhh!! :( I'm so tired of shoveling!!! :( This snow just won't stop. We've got well over a foot now, probably closer a foot and a half. We're expecting to get 24+ inches. :(

By the way, for those of you with "walk-up" basements (stairwell outside the basement door going up into the yard), keep those stairs shoveled. We've done it several times now and the drifts have been several feet deep. We sure don't want that stuff to melt down there and flood under our door later in the week.

We arent snowed in yet but it is coming this way. I'm south of Boston.

Anyone from RI, I was curious if it's raining yet there. My son has a 45 minutes ride to college, they have it tomorrow, he can't wait till next yr. he is changing colleges :D

Philly area here also.....just done shovel the first round must be close to 6 inches....pretty good for about 5 hours of snow....

They say that we should expect up to 2 feet...if this rate keeps up it will be more......

Our kids were already scheduled off tomorrow...hopefully they won't be called off on Tuesday....

Good thing we have lots of computers here no rotating with the kids for me....

My boys 9,10 went out to try to shovel driveways...i sure hope somebody puts them to work....they seemed extremely excited.....
