I'm sorry you feel that way about the holiday season.
The only reason I would like to hibernate is because of the cold
I love this time of the year! Buying presents for my family, wrapping and putting them under the tree, decorating the house and listening to holiday music, writing out my Christmas cards, and above all remembering "the reason for the season."
And this year on Christmas Day I'll be able to say we leave for vacation in 11 days!!! Florida sunshine and a Royal Caribbean cruise!!! Can't wait!!!
Those who have lost someone, you're in the same boat I am. I NEVER in a million years would have thought I would ever hate the holidays, but I actually do. How things change.

My dad died 8 days before Christmas and for the first 2 years it really bummed out the Christmas spirit...but then my godson was born and I loved it again...my godson died and that Christmas as a bit crappy but I had my daughter so that sort of took my mind off how crappy it really was that first year!
When my dad died all the gifts were under the tree already..I remember coming home from the hospital...(he died at 55, totally unexpected...cerebal hemmorage) and going through all the boxes with his name on them and opening them up to bring to the funeral home the next morning to dress him in.
I think those of you going away, especially to DISNEY, have the right idea. A few years ago we were there the week between Christmas and New Year's. IT WAS GREAT! Best time of year to go...for me any way. Disney is the only place that gets me to completely forget about the "real world." That's helpful this time of year. HAVE FUN to those of you taking trips!
Ugh! It hit me this past weekend that the holidays are here. The best way to handle them is to ignore them. Nearly impossible thanks to everyone else in the world.
I'd like to hibernate and wake up on January 2. Anyone else want to join?
I was at the supermarket yesterday and the holidays brings out the rudest people. They were pushing and shoving like there wasn't going to be any food left. These people by the way are mostly tourists. The locals have manners. The place where I live is now mobbed and I would love to hibernate until January 2.
