Be sure to watch the DVC member website closely then. On our cruise last week, they are projecting it to sell out in less than six months (around the first of the year).
Lots of things go into that 1) only 100-147 villas (smallest inventory of any resort) 2) high demand - they sold over $8M of contracts in the first day 3) guaranteed weeks of up to 35% of the available villas -- reduces the inventory for normal points buyers .
Also, they expect several points increases within the next couple of months. Already one is scheduled from $145 to $150. As inventory is reduced I would expect it to go to at least the $165 point like BLT and probably higher. By the time it sells out it will probably be close to $185 or higher.
It's better for shareholders if it takes 2 years to sell out and earn 25% more revenue. If it sells out in less than 6 months, there should be several people who are seeking new employment opportunities for poor pricing decisions.
Not sure I understand your point. The best price is always in the first few months of the offering. When the inventory reaches predetermined percentages (ie. 50% sold out, 60% sold out, etc), a price increase occurs whether that takes 6 months, a year or 5 years.![]()
I think the point of DizFan is that if it takes two years to sell out, there would have been 3 or 4 or 5 or more price increases over the longer timeframe of two years versus maybe one price increase over the course of a six month sellout. Thus, higher revenue for Disney.
The thinking also could be that if points are sold out in six months, possibly the price was too low and there might not have been sufficient time for an increase in price.
I'm putting words into Dizfan's mouth so I could be way off.

Thanks. that is what I probably didn't understand, but I doubt DVC will miss getting point increases out when their inventory targets are hit. It only takes a few hours these days to get the updated prices out to their teams and a couple of days to give heads up for a change. But even if they miss one target increase, I would suspect they would just jump to the next one.
He hasn't been able to explain to me why exactly, but my husband won't even entertain the idea. We have been staying at BLT so we can walk to the MK and we drive to the other parks. I think he just doesn't want to be stuck having to take the monorail.
I want to book Oct 28,29,30 nights at Grand Floridian. What time does online booking open on June 28? Anyone know?
We are already booked at BWV so changing the last 3 nights of my trip to GF will also help someone who is on the wait list for those 3 nights in a standard studio at BWV. Good luck, everyone!
I didn't realize we'd be staying at GF quite so close to the grand opening. My original plan was to try to switch a few nights of our early December trip to GF from VWL. But with the 4 month booking window, I can't do that yet. I'm going to change some of our October days instead if I can get them. I'm surprised to see the std studios are already sold out thru 10/27. So, I want to make sure I get to book 10/28 as quickly as possible.

Good luck!!
Well, that certainly didn't work. Even though online showed that std studios were available for the 10/28 to 10/31 timeframe, when 8 am Eastern came along they were all taken. I waitlisted for my 3 nights and hope that people are walking reservations and my 3 nights will open once they've walked their reservations past my dates. At least I still have my BWV reservation! So, no good news yet for those on the BWV waitlist, but hopefully mine will come through for VGF and then someone else will get their BWV waitlist filled for Food and Wine time at Epcot!
